Labels: , , , ,

Cellular South announced something yesterday that was fairly shocking. They announced that they would be launching the newly designed HTC Hero that will also be hitting Sprint. This small carrier will be the third carrier in the US to have an Android handset which - I think - is a pretty big feat. Congrats to them. Check out their announcement here.

Samsung I6410 and I8320 UA Profiles Spotted, More Information

Labels: , ,

More information has just popped up regarding the Samsung I6410 and the I8320. The I6410 appears to have: a WQVGA (240 x 400 resolution) display, Opera 9.6 browser, 3G connectivity, an ARM11 CPU that could clock in at 800MHz since it appears to be the same CPU as the Omnia II.

The other handset is the I8320 which looks like it will have: 3G connectivity, a Cortex-A8 OMAP3430 600MHz CPU, Opera 9.6 browser, and a WVGA (800 x 480 resolution) display. I suppose that this could be a touchscreen handset. You can check out the UA profiles for the I6410 here and the I8320 here.

Nintendo Wii HD / Wii 2 Expected in 2011, According to Square Enix President

Labels: , ,

According to the president of Square Enix, Yoichi Wada, the Nintendo Wii HD / Wii 2 will be available in 2011. He also went on to mention that the Xbox 360 and PS3's motion controllers won't be "truly successful" but he does believe that the 360's will be more successful. The Wii 2 will supposedly have a "brand new" motion controller, which is awkward. It's just this guy's prediction, so maybe he should just stick to getting Final Fantasy XIII done and ship it to North America already.

Possibly Fake Unboxing of the XPERIA X3; Definitely Real Unboxing of the XPERIA X2

Labels: , , , , , ,

A recent new unboxing has just been found online and it's the phone that takes my number one spot on my top 10 phone list: it's the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3. A couple of sources are saying that the unboxing is fake, but it doesn't really matter to me. The XPERIA X3 is definitely the handset I want in my possession next year - either this or the HTC Leo. The Phandroid link below has a ton of pictures, so it's definitely worth a look.

On a side note, Engadget Mobile got the scoop on the unboxing of the XPERIA X2. Check it out here.

HTC Magic To Get Sense UI?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Well, the picture above definitely brought up some speculation. According to HTC's website, the HTC Magic in Brazil could have their Sense UI on it. This could mean that the sexy Sense UI could be headed to HTC Magic and possibly even the HTC Dream. We already heard that the Sense UI would not be headed to "Google-branded" phones, so sorry T-Mobile G1 and myTouch 3G owners.

Samsung B7610 Goes Through Redesign? Launching on T-Mobile as the Houdini?

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

This is really interesting. Although the title of the video below is Samsung B7610 it actually looks a bit different than the original B7610 that we know and love. Well, the video also mentions that this is the Houdini which we saw on T-Mobile's leaked roadmap a while ago - and we also heard that the said handset would be running Android. This handset has really similar specs to the B7610 though, that's: a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, an 800MHz CPU, GPS / WiFi support, 500MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a 5MP AF camera with a power flash, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, an FM radio with RDS, DivX / DNSe support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, TV out, Opera browser, TouchWiz UI, and a 1,500mAh battery. The OS seems to be WinMo 6.1, but with WinMo 6.5 coming in two weeks, it'll likely be running that.

As you can see the spec sheet is almost identical to the B7610, so it could be a slight redesign.

Microsoft Releasing Two iPhone Competitors Next Year?

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Seeing how this latest rumour came from a Mac website, this is chalked up pretty lightly. The rumour states that Microsoft will be releasing two mobile phones next year that will compete with the iPhone and they will be under the Project "Pink.". One of the devices - codenamed "Turtle" - will be a Motorola QA1-looking device, which means it'll be a smartphone similar to the BlackBerry - just uglier. The other handset is said to be codenamed "Pure" and will be a candybar slider, which will also be stupid. Don't forget that this is a big rumour.
