Samsung i329 WinMo Handset Headed to China Unicom

Labels: , , , , , ,

Yes, China Unicom has their eyes set on a number of Android handsets, but let's get back to their WinMo line-up. China Unicom looks like they're going to be bringing the Samsung i329 to China as well. This Windows Mobile phone will have: a 3-inch touchscreen display with a 240 x 400 resolution, 512MB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot, Samsung's TouchWiz UI, a Qualcomm QSC6975 CPU, and 1x EV-DO Rev.0 support. As of right now, we don't know the price of this handset, but it should launch soon.

Samsung YP-M1 PMP Could Have the Nvidia Tegra Chipset and a 3.3-Inch AMOLED Display

Labels: , , , ,

Like Microsoft's Zune HD, the Samsung YP-M1 PMP looks like it has Nvidia's Tegra chipset as well. In mid-July, we saw the Samsung YP-M1 PMP arise and I actually called it "uninteresting"; but this definitely makes things much more interesting. The YP-M1 PMP looks like it has: a 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, Samsung's TouchWiz UI, a DMB-TV tuner, at least 8GB of storage, Bluetooth, DivX support, and text-to-speech functionality. The price and release date hasn't been mentioned yet, but Samsung could talk more about this on August 13th.

Four New Nikon Cameras Leak Out, One With a Projector, the Coolpix SP1000pj

Labels: , , , ,

The Coolpix SP1000pj is above and to the left. It has: a 12.1MP sensor and, interestingly enough, a projector at the front that is able to display a 40-inch image. Pretty amazing if you ask me. The camera on the right side above is the Nikon S570. The Nikon Coolpix S570 has: a 12MP sensor, a 5x Nikkor lens and will be available in four colours when it launches: red, black, pink, and blue. It will be available in September for $199 USD. Below and to the right is the Nikon Coolpix S640 and it has: a 12.2MP sensor, 5x optical zoom, and will support full resolution at 6400 ISO. This will also be available in three colours this September for around $249 USD. The black camera below is the Nikon Coolpix S70 that has: a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen display, a 12.1MP sensor, a 5x optical zoom with electronic VR, and a 6400 ISO. No price and release date are available for this camera though.

Fujitsu CELSIUS ULTRA Gets Demoed on Video

Labels: , ,

It's been less than an hour since I reported the Fujitsu CELSIUS ULTRA's teaser website and now we already have our first look at the PC with hands-on video footage. It was debuted at the KnastLAN event in Germany this past weekend. The specs are still unknown, but it does have overclocked Nvidia GPUs in an SLI configuration inside. It "impressively" ran Crysis at a full 120fps, which is pretty amazing. Check out the video below to check out the action.

HTC Hero and HTC Click to Launch on China Unicom Under Dopod Brand

Labels: , , , , , ,

It looks like China will be releasing a couple of Android phones under the Dopod brand name. All of these handsets aren't going to have WiFi on it because you know how the Chinese government is - see: strict. The HTC Hero will be launching in late August on China Unicom for 5,600 Yuan ($820 USD) and the lower-end HTC Click will be available for 3,400 Yuan ($500 USD). On the HTC Hero, Google Maps will not be pre-installed, but you're still welcome to install it when you get it. To make the offer even better, they're going to be offering the red model as well. They will also be launching another Android handset and the HTC Magic, but the price and release date for both of these devices are unknown at the time.

Fujitsu Launches New Teaser Site For Their Upcoming Gaming Rig, the CELSIUS ULTRA

Labels: , ,

Fujitsu has just shown off their latest gaming PC - well not exactly. They've just launched a teaser site for it so we know absolutely nothing about this PC yet. The CELSIUS ULTRA should have "German ultra clocking" which should make it extremely easy to overclock this gaming PC. The price, release date, and specs are unknown at the time. You can check out the teaser site, if you want.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Hitting Vodafone UK in October, Verizon in November?

Labels: , , , , , ,

The latest rumour outlines that Vodafone UK will be getting the BlackBerry Storm 2 on October, meanwhile Verizon will get it in November. As of right now, we still don't know if Verizon will launch it as the Storm 2 or the Thunder, but that's not really important, is it? These release dates are just rumours, but I'll try to get a firm release date for you, asap.

Samsung Rogue U960 Not on Verizon's August Rebate Form, Could be Delayed

Labels: , , , ,

This could be bad news. Unfortunately, the Samsung Rogue U960 / Glyde 2 / SCH-U960 is not on Verizon's latest rebate form, which is effective from August 2nd until September 7th. The Rogue U960 is rumoured to be available on August 15th so, like I said, this could be bad news. Yes, it could be delayed. The good news is that - in the past - Verizon have updated their rebate forms, so they could eventually do it. Don't forget that it's only 12 days until the 15th.

Philips K700 and X501 Phones Said to be Coming Soon

Labels: , ,

The Philips K700 (above) and the Philips X501 (below) are supposedly coming soon. Not much detail is known about either phone, but the K700 does have a 3.2MP camera and a touchscreen display. However, they could've made the touchscreen a whole lot larger if they got rid of some of the bezel because there's a lot of wasted space on the front of that handset. On the other hand, the Philips X501 is a direct successor to the Philips X500. As or right now, all that's known about this handset is that it has a 2MP camera. I'll have more news about both of these phones when it pops up.

Intel Not Ending Their Atom Z CPU Line-Up Just Yet

Labels: , , ,

Two days ago, I told you a rumour that Intel is discontinuing their current Atom Z chips. Apparently, this is "100% inaccurate" according to an Intel spokeswoman. With Pine Trail coming up though we suspect that Intel will, at least, tone down the production of their slow Atom Z CPUs.

Palm Pre Delayed Until September 1st in Canada? Bell Really Accepting Pre-Orders, Here's Proof

Labels: , , ,

Three days ago, I told you that the Palm Pre is now available for pre-orders at Bell. As of right now, it looks like it's only a few select Bell stores out there that are actually accepting pre-orders in Canada. Above is the first proof that we have of someone actually pre-ordering a Palm Pre. The receipt outlines that it's a $50 CAD deposit and the buyer (MikeyB) also mentioned that the employee told him that the launch was scheduled for August 1st, but it has actually been delayed until September 1st. The delay, of course, sucks but it looks like kids will be able to get theirs before the new school year starts.

Shield your eyes if you can, it's the Samsung r450 Mister Cartoon-branded handset that's headed to MetroPCS. "The handset will feature tattoo-centric wallpapers, ringtones and animations beneath a re-colored case complete with Mister Cartoon-designed graphics on the battery cover." Unfortunately, only 30,010 of these customized handsets will be available and the first 10 of them will be auctioned off for charity and will be signed by Mark Machado aka Mister Cartoon himself.

This phone is also expected to run Windows Phone / WinMo 6.5 and is supposedly headed to China Unicom. If the rumoured specs from March are true, we should also expect a Qualcomm 7501A 518MHz CPU.

Snapdragon and Nvidia Tegra Smartbooks to Swarm the Second Half of This Year

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Count on ol' DigiTimes to give us some rumoured information. Besides netbooks, the big thing to hit the world later this year will be what Nvidia is calling smartbooks. These "smartbooks" will utilize Smapdragon and Nvidia's own Tegra chipsets. These are boasting "all day battery life" and even some hardcore gaming. According to the rumours, Acer will lead the way with their smartbook running Android and then Mobinnova will follow up with their Elan smartbook, which will apparently sell no less than 500,000 units. Inventec is going to release their 10-inch Tegra smartbook named Rainbow - which hopefully gets a name change. And last but not least, Asus will be releasing their smartbook as early as November. It'll be an exciting second half of this year - that's all I have to say about that.

The Sims 3 First Expansion to be Called "World Adventures" Hitting Retailers on November 16th

Labels: ,

So much for "Virtuous Ventures", the first Sims 3 expansion will be called "World Adventures". The Sims 3 World Adventures is scheduled to hit the shelves on November 16th of this year, so mark it on your calendars.

The expansion will grant the electronic puppets the ability to explore tombs in Egypt, romance each other in France, learn martial arts in China and search for treasure, all while making the Sims beg for the sweet release of death from the player's megalomania. The expansion comes with 1,000 SimPoint, just to get kids comfortable with the idea of asking their parents for the credit card later -- their Sim totally needs to live a happy and fulfilling life, you know. World Adventure will also make its way to iPhone in early 2010.

Mac OS X 10.6 aka Snow Leopard Now Number 1 On Amazon's Pre-Order List

Labels: , , ,

Two days ago, I told you that Mac OS X 10.6 aka Snow Leopard was available for pre-orders on Amazon. Well, the demand is high and it has just claimed the top spot in Amazon's pre-order list. As of right now, UK is going to have to wait their turn for pre-ordering the future OS from Apple because it's still not on Amazon yet.
