T-Mobile Delays Cupcake Version of Android to June

Labels: , ,

Yes, that's right. It's a sad, sad day for those T-Mobile G1 owners. The Cupcake version of Android has been delayed until the first week of June. There's not really anything else I can say here. These owners must be running out of patience because it seems like it has been delayed forever. In the meantime, you can check out the "Donut" build of Android here, running on the HTC Hero.

Final Fantasy Dissidia PSP Bundle Hitting Gamestop On August 25 For $199

Labels: , , , ,

It looks like USA will be receiving a new Final Fantasy Dissidia PSP bundle starting on August 25. This bundle will be exclusive to Gamestop and will consist of: a copy of Final Fantasy Dissidia, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, a 2GB memory stick, and a "Mystic Silver" PSP-3000. Yes, it's kind of upsetting that the bundle will not include the limited edition PSP unit that Japan got, but that's expected. It will be available on August 25 for $199.99 USD, so mark it on your calendars.

Intel Reveals Pricing Of Their Future Portable Devices

Labels: , , , , ,

This chart is the key for the rest of the year. Since the Atom N280 and GN40 chipset are not identified on this chart, it could mean that Intel could be retiring it soon. I could be referring to this chart a lot if we have new netbooks with an unknown pricing, so, like I said, this is really key for the rest of the year.

12 days ago, Bell announced that they will be launching the Palm Pre later this year. Well, it looks like Bell is pushing for an August release date for the Pre here in Canada. That's really all that you need to know. Let's just hope that Bell doesn't mess up this launch like they did with the BlackBerry Storm last year.

Asus Eee PC 1005HAB Spotted

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Asus is really making things confusing by releasing a bunch of Asus Eee PCs in the 1xxx-Series, but I guess we'll have to bear with them. A couple of days ago, the Eee PC 1005HAB netbook was spotted on the company's support site. It also shown up for pre-order on some sites out there. So far, the 1005HAB netbook has: a 10-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of DDR2 RAM (up to 2GB), a 160GB HDD, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, and Intel's Atom 1.66GHz N280 CPU. It is also expected to have a removable 6-cell battery. The Eee PC 1005HAB looks like it will be on sale for €349 ($473 USD) and is expected to start shipping in 5-6 weeks.

On a side note, the 1008HA "Shell" could have the same removable 6-cell battery as the 1005HAB.

Verizon Outlines Future BlackBerry News

Labels: , , , , , ,

There's not much for me to say because this excerpt says it all:

  • All Verizon BlackBerry handsets launched after the BlackBerry Tour will have Wi-Fi

  • The Storm 2’s screen does not press in like SurePress, rather it operates more like traditional capacitive touch screen panels. We’re not sure if the rumored TruePress is just localized haptic feedback or what, but we can’t imagine RIM abandoning their entire fucking selling point on the Storm.

  • We have no idea what to think of this part, but, our tipster said the BlackBerry Tour would be accompanied by a BlackBerry Atlas with the Atlas having Wi-Fi, not the Tour. Again, don’t flip out, but it’s just what was told to us by this particular tipster.

  • BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 release is “imminent”. We’d say May release, June latest.

  • 8230 specs… EV-DO Rev. 0, 2.0 MP Camera, 3.5 ounces, Flash 128 MB, RAM 64 MB, SD Card - Expandable to 16GB, Usage/Standby - 220 min. / 216 hrs.

  • The WiFi part is a good sign, since it means no more pulling WiFi from BlackBerries aka Storm. The Storm 2's capacitive-like touchscreen is also a good thing - for most of us. The whole Tour and Atlas bit is really confusing, so we'll just have to see what happens in the future. And, last and least, the Pearl Flip 8230 doesn't really matter to me.

Asus Announces 1005HA-M and 1005HA-H Netbooks

    Labels: , , , , , , , ,

A couple of days ago, Asus announced 2 new netbooks, the Eee PC 1005HA-M and 1005HA-H. The 1005HA-M looks like it will have a 2,200mAh battery that has an expected 8-hours of life; the 1005HA-M, on the other hand, will have a 2,800mAh battery that has an expected 10-hours of life. The specifications of the 2 aren't that much different from each other or the earlier announced 1008HA "Shell" netbook. Take a look at the spec sheet below for more information.

Samsung I7500 Android-Based Handset Creeps Past FCC

    Labels: , , , , ,

The FCC has just approved Samsung's first Android handset, the I7500. It looks to be T-Mobile bound, which isn't too shocking. Apparently, the June release date is no more, since the rumours are saying that it will touch down in November. That's really upsetting because T-Mobile may release a couple of other Android handsets before November. Are you going to wait for this handset?

Asus Eee PC Makes Its Way Past the FCC; Possible SSD and 3G Options?

    Labels: , , , , , ,

Yes, that's right folks! The Eee PC T91 touchscreen netbook from Asus, that we heard about 10 days ago, has just been cleared by the FCC. The T91 has a non-removable battery, but there are some good news. Apparently, there could be an SSD option and the GPS could be replaced with 3G capabilities. Exciting stuff. Take a look at the link below to see more pictures from the FCC.

Recent Tweet Confirms New Gaming Device For Microsoft?

    Labels: , , , , , ,

Someone from the Xbox 360 team, ChenelleB, made a recent tweet that has been stirring up some controversy, but what could it mean? The tweet said:

getting an earful cause Xbox 360 broke… What can I say, I still prefer it as a console. Just wait. Even better stuff is coming soon!

Could this be the confirmation of the Zune HD gaming device? Or a new Xbox in the making? Or was she just trying to screw with all of our heads? We'll see at this year's E3.

LG Voyager 2 aka EnV Touch Gets a Spec Sheet; Not Really

    Labels: , ,

It does get a bunch of pictures though. The LG EnV Touch that was earlier revealed as the Voyager 2 has: 2 WVGA touchscreens (internal and external), a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, a microSDHC card slot, a 3.2MP camera with autofocus, [LED?] flash and a Schneider-Kreuznach lens. Over a month ago, I also heard that the phone could also have 3G, but it hasn't been confirmed. The release date still hasn't been announced, but you can check out a bunch of other pictures at the link below.

[Updated] HTC Touch Pro 2 To Debut On Vodafone Soon

    Labels: , ,

This should be of no surprise that Vodafone UK will be getting this handset first. The HTC Touch Pro 2 (number 2 on my list of current phones) looks like it has made its way to Vodafone UK's official website. The Windows Mobile Touch Pro 2 (with the QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen that certainly attracts me) is coming soon, but the prices haven't been mentioned yet. I'm excited to see the full retail price because I might get this instead of the N97. We'll just have to see what the future brings.

Update: According to Slash Gear, Expansys has the HTC Touch Pro 2 scheduled for a June 12th release date in the UK. The price at launch for the Touch Pro 2 is expected to be £519.99 ($795 USD).

Kojima Productions Updates Teaser Website; Mysterious "5" or "S"

    Labels: , ,

Kojima Productions mentioned that they would release something on May 18, and here it is. A new update to the teaser site with, of course, a countdown. It looks like there is a faint number 5 or a block letter "S." I'm going to go with the number 5, aka Metal Gear Solid 5. We'll see what happens when the countdown reaches 0. Go and check out the updated teaser website here.
