Cube's H200D PMP Has an HDMI Output

Labels: , ,

Cube seems to be setting the scale with their latest PMP's. Their last entry was the H100HD that had 1080i capabilities and now it's the H200D. Cube's H200D PMP has: a decent-sized touchscreen, an HDMI output, and will come in a couple of colours, like grey, blue, and red. The pricing and availability is still unknown right now, but it'll probably be exclusive to China when it gets released.

iPod Touch and Nano To Get a Camera?

Labels: , , , ,

That is the latest rumour. This excerpt from HardMac says:

- The future iPhone models will have exactly the same shape and size than the current iPhone 3G, despite fakes and rumors circulating.
- Apple should refresh models for the iPod nano and Touch in september. Both should now include a camera, similarly to the iPhone.

This is pretty interesting. The iPod Touch gaining a camera wouldn't be all that shocking, but the iPod Nano to get a camera? That would be kind of weird, but definitely shocking at the same time. It'll catch those not paying attention off guard - for sure. Yesterday, we also heard news about AT&T's Project Charlie, which consists of Charlie 1, Charlie 2, and Charlie 3. We don't know what this means right now, but I'm going to take a guess that it could be the refreshed iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and a possible new iPhone? Just a guess though folks! Your guess is as good as mine.

Update: According to Gizmodo, Project Charlie seems to be 3 new phones. This means that it can't be the refreshed iPod Touch and iPod Nanos. This makes things even more interesting.

iRiver P7 Now Shipping In South Korea

Labels: ,

The iRiver P7 that I talked about over a month ago is now shipping in South Korea. It has been on pre-order for a while in America for $189.88 USD here (Actually, it looks like it's available - I'm not sure though). The 8GB iRiver P7 PMP is now available for 200,000 South Korean won ($160 USD) and the 16GB model will probably cost a little bit more. The official US release is still TBD, even though it looks like this J&R listing says that it will ship in 1-2 business days and has an "Add to Cart" button, which is different from the old "Pre-order" button.

Mozilla Fennec Alpha 1 Available On WinMo 6 Devices; Firefox 3.5 RC Set For Early June Release

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Mozilla's mobile browser Fennec aka Firefox is now available on Windows Mobile 6 devices. The Alpha 1 version of Fennec improves memory behaviour, has support for add-ons, and "moves the user interface to a CSS-based solution that'll make resolution independence easier." You can download Fennec (Firefox) Alpha 1 here and the release notes are here.

Mozilla has just announced that they are "setting an aggressive code freeze target" for next Wednesday. They also went on to mention that the Firefox 3.5 RC will be available to testers in the first week on June. I can't wait until this officially gets released, but it seems that by then, Google may finally release their Chrome extensions - still wishful thinking though.

MSI GX723 Gaming Laptop Announced

Labels: ,

Yesterday, MSI announced a new gaming laptop, the GX723. It has great features, such as: a 17-inch display with a 1,680 x 1,050 resolution, 4GB of RAM, Nvidia's GeForce GT 130M graphics, a 320GB or 500GB HDD, an integrated 2MP webcam, WiFi, Blu-ray, a DVD drive, and your choice of either a 6 or 9-cell battery.

The good thing about this gaming laptop is that it has Turbo Mode which makes overclocking the processor that much easier. Unfortunately, you only be able to overclock this laptop if it is plugged in. MSI kept their mouth shut about the availability and the price, so we'll just have wait for that.

In the meantime, you can also take a look at the MSI GX733 AMD-powered gaming laptop, which looks like an upgraded version of the GX723.

Albatron Shows Off 10.2-Inch Ultra-Thin Netbook

Labels: ,

Thin is definitely in for netbooks. Albatron has just shown off their own 10.2-inch netbook that looks pretty darnn thin. This netbook apparently weighs only 2.2 pounds, so it won't be a pain to lug around, like most netbooks out there. The only thing we don't know is solid information. Oh wait, there's a hands-on video below, thanks to Engadget. Check it out!

Acer Aspire One 571 Packs a Vmedia Drive and 720p

Labels: , , ,

Acer's latest entry, the Aspire One 571, mildly sets itself from the traditional netbook market. The Aspire One 571 has a Vmedia drive, which "uses 32mm Blu-ray discs, loaded inside tiny plastic cartridges, each with 1GB capacity." As you can see in the picture above, the Vmedia drive is located on the left side of the palm-rest.

It's still your traditional netbook though, since it has: a 10-inch display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution (720p), Intel's Atom 1.66GHz N280 CPU, 1GB of RAM, either a 160GB or 250GB HDD, Bluetooth, and WiFi. The netbook will most likely use Windows XP Home, thankfully. As of right now, the pricing and release date hasn't been announced.

Nokia N97 Available As Early As June 5?

Labels: , ,

That's what the above picture says. Apparently, Nokia Conversations has confirmed that the N97 will start to ship in June. More specifically, the Nokia N97 will hit Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia on June 5, which is under 3 weeks from now! Are you excited yet? Even though it has a semi-underpowered processor and a resistive touchscreen - not to mention the high price tag.
