Asus Launching Aluminum Eee PC 1002HAE On May 16th In Japan

Labels: , , , , ,

Asus announced their latest netbook, the Eee PC 1002HAE last night. It basically has the same specs as the 1002HA, but it has an aluminum casing. It will come in 3 colours: red, blue, and gray, and will be fueled by Intel's Atom N280 1.66GHz CPU. The 1002HAE also has: a 10-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, audio in/out, VGA output, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and a memory card reader. The netbook will, of course, be running on Windows XP Home Edition, is just 27.6mm thin and weighs just 1.2kg. Asus also went on to mention that the battery is good enough to last up to 3.8 hours which sounds like a real-time figure, but we'll have to see when it gets officially tested. Like the title says, the Asus Eee PC 1002HAE will be available in Japan on May 16 - for 49,800 yen ($505 USD).

Samsung Releases 3 New Sexy LCD Monitors

Labels: , , , , ,

Samsung has just announced the availability of their 3 latest [and sexy] LCD monitors: the P2070, P2370, and P2370HD. All of these LCDs have "hidden" touch-sensitive controls, a 50,000:1 dynamic ratio, and are just 1.2-inches thick.

The P2070 has a 20-inch display with a 1,600 x 900 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 2ms response time, and DVI input. The P2370 has a 23-inch display with a full 1080p HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080), and also the same 2ms response time and DVI input. The P2370HD LCD monitor ups the ante being a "crossover HDTV with a built-in ATSC tuner", component and HDMI video inputs, and tops it off with a 5ms response time.

These new Samsung LCD monitors look damn sexy and should be available now, according to Samsung - I don't know where though. For some reason though, Samsung decided not to reveal the prices.

MSI Announces 2 New Gaming Laptops; The GX623 and GX633

Labels: , ,

Yes, I am a bit behind in this news, but 3 days ago MSI announced their 2 new gaming laptops: the GX623 and the GX633. First off, we'll start with the differences between the 2 laptops. The GX623 will have an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, an ATI Radeon HD 4670 3D graphics card, and just 512MB of RAM. The GX633, on the other hand, has an AMD Turion X2 dual-core CPU, the Nvidia GeForce GT 130M, and also has 512MB of RAM.

Both of these laptops will have: 15.4-inch displays with a 1,440 x 900 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio, up to 4GB of RAM, one-button overclocking, power management, and also has the option of 160GB, 250GB, 320GB, and 500GB HDDs. As you can see, they do have similar features, which is always good. They also have more options in common, including: WiFi, a DVD writer, Bluetooth, a memory card reader, 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI outputs, Ethernet, a 9-cell battery, and optional Blu-ray. Since this is a gaming laptop, it is also a convenience to the consumer that they also have highlighted W, A, S, D keys. The exact release date and pricing has not been mentioned yet, so I'll have that for you when they are available.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 Hitting PSN and XBL On June 29

Labels: , , ,

We heard a couple of days ago that Marvel vs Capcom 2 will be hitting PSN and Xbox Live, well the official date is rumoured to be June 29, 2009. That gives you over a month to prepare for the re-release. You can play Street Fighter 4 while you wait because that should be enough preparation. This is yet another date to mark on your Summer calendar.

Dell Mini 10v Netbook Starts At Just $299

Labels: , ,

An updated version of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10, the Mini 10v, has just been found on Dell's official website. It isn't a complete shocker that Dell has upgraded one of their products because they do it all the time. The 10v will have an Atom N270 CPU (which is an upgrade compared to the old Z-Series Atom that it was bundled with before) and also the same old: 120GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, a 1.3MP webcam, and Windows XP. You can swap out its HDD with your choice of a 32 or a 64GB SSD for $75 and $125 USD, respectively. Dell has also decided to drop the base price of the Mini 10x to just $299 USD, so it could be a steal at that low of a price - that's up to you.

Starcraft 2 Beta This Summer!!

Labels: ,

Time to celebrate! So, call of your little nerdy friends because this Summer look like it's going to be amazing. The Starcraft II Beta that has been long overdue will start officially this Summer. This was confirmed earlier today in a Blactivision conference call. The exact date is still unknown, but Summer is only 3 weeks away. It probably won't start as soon as Summer starts, but at least you can mark this on your calendar - somewhat.

Sony Ericsson Rep "Confirms" The XPERIA X2 and X5

Labels: , , ,

That's what Tech Radar thinks at least. A tweet from a Sony Ericsson rep said that, "Naturally, after the X1 comes X2, X3, X4, and X5. What else is new?" So, that leads us to believe that those other handsets are in the making. Apparently though, the X3 and X4 XPERIA's will be skipped "due to negative connotations they would bring in some regions" which I'm unsure about.

Last year Tech Radar got their hands on a leaked shot of the XPERIA X5 (pictured) and the specs were more than decent. A 3.2-inch touchscreen display, 8MP camera, 8GB of internal storage, 3.5G connectivity, and WiFi. I don't know what the XPERIA X2 will be like, but I'm sure the X5 will be much more interesting. The X2 is said to be released in a couple of months and the X5 will follow afterwards. Hopefully these rumours are true.

Sprint To Hold A Palm Pre Launch Lunch On June 5

Labels: , ,

Yes, that's right folks! Sprint will have a Palm Pre "launch lunch" for all of their employees on June 5th at noon. This could indicate a couple of things which is a Palm Pre launch on or around the June 5th date - or just about anything else. If you take a close look there is a typo in "Employee Benefits" but that doesn't mean that this is entirely bogus because it's just some human error. We'll see what happens on June 5th, but hopefully the Pre can launch on June 7th, so that it will launch on the same day as Best Buy's supposed trial launch.
