Walt Mossberg Says Verizon Launching Storm 2 In November For $200; Vodafone UK Now Taking Pre-Orders, Shipping On October 26th!

Labels: , , , , ,

Walt Mossberg has just unofficially confirmed the BlackBerry Storm 2 that we already know about. He mentioned that he's been using it for a while and he thinks it's a major improvement over the original Storm. He also mentioned that Verizon will likely launch it in November for around $200 - can anyone say $199.99 USD on a 2-year contract.

To make things a bit better, it's really official now. On Vodafone's own page (here), they now have the Storm2. This handset is now available for pre-order and should be shipping to you by October 26th and will be free on at least a £35 ($57 USD) monthly contract. The Storm 2's specs are officially: a 3.25-inch capacitive SurePress touchscreen display with a 360 x 480 resolution, 256MB of flash memory, 2GB of internal storage, a microSDHC card slot, GPS support, dual-band UMTS/HSPA connectivity, a 3.2MP camera with a flash and video recording, Bluetooth 2.1 / WiFi 802.11 b/g, and a 1400 mAh battery. Yes, it will be outed with BlackBerry's OS 5.0. CrackBerry now has their review up for this handset here and there's a video of the Storm 2 here. You can also check it out on RIM's page here.
