Sprint Confirms HTC Touch Pro 2 Details, Launching For $299; Verizon Touch Pro 2 on Video, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Slight Branding Change

Labels: , , , ,

Sprint has finally confirmed some of the specs that their HTC Touch Pro 2 will have: This includes quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity and video recording at a mediocre QIF (352 x 288) resolution. The video recording sucks because overseas it is capable of recording VGA video. Other specs remain the same: 3.6-inch display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, GPS, WiFi, a 3.2MP camera and it's running WinMo 6.1. Sprint will be launching it in the future for $299 USD on a 2-year contract - similar to T-Mobile.

Verizon wasn't going to be shown up by Sprint. Verizon has just launched a 30-second YouTube video (below) of the upcoming HTC Touch Pro 2 aka HTC XV6875. The branding on the front got a little bit changed up though. The HTC branding is now just above the four hard buttons, instead of in the corner - similar to Sprint's handset above. It made way to Verizon's branding, which is dead smack in the top middle of the handset. Oh yeah, the Touch Pro 2 for Verizon does have a 3.5mm headphone jack - for you music lovers out there. Take a look at the video below for more information.
