New Motorola Phone!!, Trimble Yuma UMPC, GM Is Almost Done, What is TealOS?

Labels: , , ,

Here we have what could be the biggest news of the whole week. A (possible) picture of what could be the next Motorola phone. It looks mighty similar to the iPhone, but don't be fooled because it looks more like the HTC Touch HD. Maybe that's why i love it, even though it upset me that the HTC Touch HD ran WinMo 6.1, which meant epic fail. This phone is not official, but it could be real. It doesn't sport a "Home" button, that is mandatory for future WinMo 6.5 phones, so we can cross that off this list. But, it could be Motorola's first Android device, it could even put the HTC Magic (T-Mobile G2) down the drain. This full touchscreen phone (judging from the pictues) has a 5 megapixel Kodak-branded camera with a xenon flash and a TV-out. This looks too good to be true, especially from Motorola. I was arguing with a friend yesterday about how terrible Motorola's devices have become, but if this gets official i might have to backtrack on those comments. This phone truly looks amazing at the first glance and i'm excited to see whether this phone is real or not. It would be emphatically disappointing to hear that this phone is fake because Motorola has to gain some ground on all of the other devices out there. I wonder why this wasn't at MWC. Motorola's secret device!?

A new Yuma UMPC (Ultra-Mobile Personal Computer) from Trimble has surfaced. It sports a "sunlight-readable" 7-inch touchscreen, has a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, a 32GB SSD drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, ExpressCard and SDIO slots, and two "geotag-enabled cameras." There is also no word on the price tag, but Trimble has mentioned that we should see it ship by April. This UMPC actually doesn't look too bad with the "sunlight-readable" touchscreen, the processor, a 32GB SSD, but i don't know why it would need two camera on-board. I guess one on the front and one on the back? I don't know, but it's all about Motorola right now.

GM's share has hit a 74-year low. "GM shares hit a low of $1.52 in early afternoon trading, before rebounding to $1.82 later in the session. The low matched a record set on July 26, 1934, according to the Center for Research in Security Prices at the University of Chicago." GM's share was worth $3.50 a month ago, this was down from $25.54 from a year ago. Talk about a drop, eh?

At the price of $14.95 USD, TealOS will give your old Palm phone a well-needed upgrade. "TealOS incorporates a lot of the navigation and UI components of Palm's new WebOS, but as an all-encompassing skin for older Palm phones." Gizmodo mentioned that it also ran very smooth "even on an underpowered device like the Centro, and is not only pretty but functional as well." This is actually a must have upgrade and reportedly "breathes so much life back into the Centro it might as well be a whole new phone." There you have it, the TealOS mimics the features of WebOS onto your old Palm phone. You can buy it here for the aforementioned price of $14.95 USD. There is also a 30-day trilal, just in case you want to try it out before-hand. Below is a video of TealOS, via Gizmodo.

Well at least it's a start for moto. Their logo is just ugly. Although if this phone doesn't run win mobile it could stand a chance.
