JVC LCD Protoype, LG's Super Slim LCD, Palm's Nova-powered Slider soon?, Apple's Last Macworld Tuesday

Labels: , , , , ,

I woke up this morning at around 6:15 a.m. after sleeping last night at 3:30 a.m. My body actually wasn't tired this morning, which was good and shocking for me, since i've been sleeping an excessive amount lately. But, it was good that i wasn't groggy this morning or else i would've missed school. We all know that's never a good thing. Anyways, i left my house at around 7, as usual and caught my 7:08 bus. I have to take 2 buses to school and i noticed that my first bus driver was different. Usually, i would miss the 7:37 bus, where i have to transfer buses, but i didn't today because of the new bus driver. Hopefully, i never miss the second bus because if i miss it, i would have to wait outside, in the cold, for another 15 minutes. Anyways, i got to school at around 8:10 and texted my girlfriend via Facebook. I went to my first class, Religion, and just talked to Sarah all class. In my next class, Advanced Functions, we did absolutely nothing, so i went to sleep. Well, we did do stuff, but it was review of 1 lesson in the unit, which i already understood. After that class, i came down to the library, since it's routine. Now that i bring my laptop, i can blog during my lunch, since i don't do anything anyway. Tech news time.
We are going to see a new JVC LCD protoype at this year's CES. JVC is claiming this 32 inch LCD TV to be the lightest and will only weigh 11 pounds. It looks to me that it has a weird stand and looks better without the stand, mounted on the wall. They reportedly used "50% less materials and 10% fewer LCD module parts" and they also used a "new optical system." JVC explained how they made the LCD so thin and light, but i don't really understand it too well, so you can read about it in the article below, if you want.

Some more news regarding the LG LH9500. I think i talked about this a couple of posts ago, but i don't remember. What i do know, is that we will see this at this year's CES. And, it has a wireless HD box included and has DivX HD support. It will use 240Hz and has a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. It's pretty slim and really good looking. Nice to see LG starting off the year pretty good. We'll see it at CES.

The upcoming phone by Palm will be shown at CES, just like everything else i've talked about today. So, this Palm phone will sport the new Nova OS, which some people are claiming to be "amazing." This Palm phone has no official design, but it will, reportedly, be a slider phone, with a large screen. HTC will be designing the phone, so it should look decent. HTC designs all different kind of phones, besides their own. Notably, the T-Mobile G1 and now this Palm slider. We may not see the phone's design at this year's CES, but we will, most likely, see the Nova OS do some work. Be ready.

Apple's Macworld is tomorrow (Tuesday), January 6, 2009. It will be Apple's last Macworld and will be showing at 12:00 p.m. This means that i'll miss most of it, if not, all of it. I don't know how long it will be, so yeah. Anyways, until later, i'm out, maybe even another blog before i leave the library. We'll see
