Apple Quietly Updates Their MacBook Pros With Faster CPUs

Labels: , ,

Apple has quietly and swiftly updated their family of MacBook Pro notebooks. All of the models now feature Bluetooth 4.0 just like the MacBook Air and the new iPhone 4S. The base 13-inch model now packs a 2.4GHz CPU along with 500GB of storage which is impressive. The 15-inch model got some graphics improvements as well. The 17-inch model now features AMD's newer Radeon HD 6770M graphics and now features a 2.4GHz CPU in the base $2,499 model. The price hasn't changed so they're still awesome deals. Check it out on Apple.

Dell Announces the XPS 14z Notebook Availability

Labels: , ,

Dell has finally announced exactly when their XPS 14z notebook will be available. If you live in North America it'll be available on November 1st and the rest of the world will get their chance on November 15th. The notebook has a 23mm thin body, it weighs less than 5 pounds, and it starts at $999. That model's packing a Core i5 CPU along with (sadly) integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics which doesn't scream "fully-featured".

The notebook is highly customizable though so you can upgrade it to your liking. Specs include: a Core i5 / i7 CPU, a bunch of HDD / SSD storage options, a Nvidia GeForce GT 520M GPU, a bunch of ports, an HDMI (1.4) output, and USB 3.0. The fully loaded model will cost you $1,599 and packs a Core i7 CPU along with the GT 520M GPU. Check it out on Dell.

Labels: , , , , , ,

Sprint has just announced their upcoming Android phone, the Samsung Transform Ultra. This mid-end handset is set to launch in a few weeks but the price is unconfirmed right now. The handset features a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1GHz CPU, 2GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 512MB of RAM, a 3MP camera, a front-facing camera, Sprint ID, a 1,500mAh battery, and Android "Gingerbread". It's a pretty decent one if you're looking for a mid-end Android phone without WiMAX support.
