4.3-Inch LG Optimus Big Leaks, On Its Way To Korea

Labels: , , ,

Coming from Xportsnews is word on a new LG smartphone that'll be running Android. Beside the iPhone above is reportedly the Optimus Big which features a 4.3-inch display which is pretty much as big as it gets right now - rivals a few HTC phones. Sources say that this smartphone features just a 1GHz single-core CPU, a T-DMB TV tuner, and a NOVA display which has 700 nits of brightness. Since it'll have that TV tuner, this one may actually only hit Korea unless the company wants to make another variant for the rest of the world.

WWDC 2011 Starts On June 6th, Showing Off iOS and Mac OS X; Next iPhone Too?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Apple looks like they're going to be starting WWDC 2011 this year on June 6th which is a Monday. Usually, this is where the company unveils the next iPhone but recent rumours suggest that this might not be the case this time around. It says that we'll be joining them "for a preview of the future of iOS and Mac OS X" so we should get another look at Lion as well as iOS 5 - hopefully, release dates on both. We're still crossing our fingers for the next-generation iPhone to be announced.

Lenovo Now Shipping ThinkPad Edge E420s For $699, E220s On April 8th For $899

Labels: ,

Engadget has just picked up some information if you're into Lenovo notebooks. The first one is that the ThinkPad Edge E420s is actually now available for $699. For that price you'll be getting a 14-inch display with a 1,366 x768 resolution, an Intel Core i3-2310M CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD, and an HD webcam which is pretty good for the price. Of course, you get Intel graphics which are decent enough for the student life.

On the other hand, you have the 12.5-inch E220s which looks like it'll be shipping on April 8th which is a few days away. This notebook looks like it'll be starting at $899 which is actually $100 more than expected. This one should actually be packing pretty much the same spec sheet so you get the same power in a smaller body which is, obviously, a bit harder to do.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo Hits the FCC With AT&T and Canada 3G Bands

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Once again, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo has just been caught sneaking through the FCC. This time around it has 850/1900MHz bands which is perfect for AT&T in the US and a bunch of major carriers in Canada so this is definitely great news. Don't be surprised if this one gets announced for Canada or AT&T in the near future, cause it'll be a pretty good addition to any carrier if it's priced right. Check it out at the FCC.

It looks like the first place the LG Optimus Pad (G-Slate in the US) will be hitting is unsurprisingly Japan. Other specs include: an 8.9-inch display with a 1,280 x 768 resolution, 3G / GPS support, Bluetooth, and a rear-facing camera that'll shoot 3D video and pictures if you want it too. The price hasn't been mentioned yet so you'll have to wait for that.

A couple of days ago we heard about the HTC EVO 3D with GSM connectivity and it looks like MobileCityOnline has just confirmed it. At least they did - it's been pulled since then. Pre-orders were up for $699.99 which is pretty expensive but then again it is one of the first 3D phones out there and you won't need glasses for it.

LG To Build Google-Branded Nexus Tablet, Set For Summer Launch?

Labels: , , ,

Coming from Mobile-Review is word on a new tablet that's on the way from Google. Apparently, the company plans to launch their own branded tablet - part of the Nexus line-up - and the hardware will be made by LG this time around (they must've liked the G-Slate pictured above). Now, it's still early but we're hearing that it'll be set to launch in the Summer so maybe we'll see a bit of it at Google I/O later this year. This tablet will be running on their follow-up to "Honeycomb" so it should be a more refined tablet OS - some minor tweaks. This one's a rumour for now but maybe we'll be hearing more about this one soon.
