Lenovo T420 and T520 Notebooks Now On Sale With "Sandy Bridge"

Labels: , , ,

If you're interested in a laptop that will last 15 hours then look no further than the Lenovo ThinkPad T420 and T520 notebooks which are now on sale today. They both pack Intel "Sandy Bridge" CPUs and the same old ThinkPad look that you should be used to by now. The smaller 14-inch model packs a Core i3 as a standard while the 15.6-inch model has a more powerful Core i5 CPU. If you're looking to get an extended battery life then you're going to have to pick up the $50 9-cell battery upgrade which is worth in. Unfortunately, the standard model only has Intel HD graphics 3000 which aren't amazing. Whenever you're ready check them out here and here, respectively, on LogicBuy.

Four Android Tablets Get Priced For Europe; Acer A100, Transformer, XOOM, and Optimus Pad

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

A bunch of upcoming tablets for Europe has just been priced. It's everything you see above so that includes the €349 Acer Iconia A100, €399 Asus Eee Pad, €699 Motorola XOOM, and €849 LG Optimus Pad. It's actually pretty surprising that the A100 will be so inexpensive since it's running Android "Honeycomb" which means that the price could actually be right. The one that surprised me the most is that the 3D-capable Optimus Pad will cost so much money so I doubt that'll be flying off of the shelves. The unknown Eee Pad could actually be the Transformer so that's a decent price for a Tegra 2 tablet.

Of course, what we're missing here is the release dates which are still unknown right now. Some of these were supposed to be available in March but that's looking doubtful. Expect a Q2 launch; yes, I'm being vague.

Nokia E6 Hits the FCC, Could Be On Its Way To AT&T and T-Mobile USA

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Yet another Nokia handset has just hit the FCC and this time it's the Nokia E6. The FCC tells us that this handset has tri-band UMTS/HSDPA (850/1700/1900MHz) connectivity so it'll be good enough for AT&T and T-Mobile in the US (along with a bunch of carriers in Canada). We don't know which carriers it will be hitting right now but hopefully someone announces it soon. I really hate waiting. Check it out at the FCC.

Toshiba's "Honeycomb" Tablet Gets Completely Detailed On Amazon

Labels: , , , , , ,

Nope, it's not a new teaser website from Toshiba for their Android tablet. It has just been listed on Amazon telling us pretty much the complete spec sheet. The unnamed Toshiba tablet packs a 10.1-inch multitouch display, a dual-core Tegra 2 CPU, a 5MP AF camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, USB / HDMI port, an SD card reader, WiFi / Bluetooth support, and Android. The version of Android isn't listed but it should be running "Honeycomb" which should be great. If you want to know even more then check out Amazon for more information.

Sprint-Branded Motorola XOOM Spotted, Will It Have WiMAX?

Labels: , , , , , , ,

A new kind of Motorola XOOM has just leaked and, no, it's not the WiFi-only one or something XOOM with integrated 4G (LTE) connectivity. If you take a look at the photo above, it's actually a XOOM with Sprint branding on it. Awesome stuff. Furthermore, we don't know if this will be a WiMAX model but maybe it'll be upgradeable just like the XOOM on Verizon is. Since all that leaked is a photo, we don't know when this will be available.

WiFi-Only Dell Streak 7 Up For Pre-Orders On Amazon; WiFi Alliance Certified

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Amazon has just listed another tablet for pre-order. It's the WiFi-only Dell Streak 7 which will cost you $379.99 if you're interested. The price actually sounds pretty good it's just that the OS is the outdated Android 2.2 "Froyo" and not "Honeycomb" - not even "Gingerbread". You should know the spec sheet since the 7-inch tablet has been available on T-Mobile USA for a while now. It sports WiFi / Bluetooth support, a 7-inch WVGA display, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, Flash 10.1 support, and 16GB of internal storage.

Update: Another Slash Gear post has just mentioned that this tablet has just been certified by the WiFi Alliance so the launch could be at anytime.
