Samsung T839 Hits the FCC, Could Be T-Mobile USA's "Nightwing"

Labels: , , , , , ,

The T-Mobile "Nightwing" may have just been spotted at the FCC as the Samsung T839. This handset is said to sport a WVGA (480 x 800) resolution display, which is up from rumours of it having just a 320 x 480 resolution. It also houses an ARM 11 CPU so this could actually turn out to be a high-end Android powered smartphone. We'll just have to wait and see. Anyways, check it out at the FCC.

HTC Incredible and Trophy Rumoured For March 17th and 24th Launch, Respectively

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

The leak above states two pretty important dates regarding future Verizon handsets. The first is that the Android powered HTC Thunderbolt could launch on March 17th and that the WP7 based HTC Trophy could be available a week later, on March 24th. Of course, this could be totally wrong at this point. Rumours about the Thunderbolt launching have been untrue so far so we're really just waiting for the official word. We also heard a few weeks ago that the HTC Trophy would be delayed to support Global 3G. Only Verizon knows the real dates.

At launch there'll be six games for you to finish, but you'll have access to the games on the Android Market as well so you don't need to worry. Don't forget that they're working on new games and that this is a smartphone as well. It's no NGP but it'll do for now.

Samsung Galaxy S II and SGH-i708 Hit the FCC, Both Pretty Similar

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Two upcoming Samsung smartphones have actually just been spotted at the FCC. The first one is the Galaxy S II (i9100) that's set for AT&T's 3G network (and the big 3 in Canada) with 850/1900MHz connectivity. Check this one out at the FCC. This is one powerful smartphone that's guaranteed to land in a few pockets. The other smartphone is the SGH-i708 (at the FCC here) which is sporting WCDMA / CDMA / EVDO connectivity. It looks to be a touchscreen phone as well, and it should be running the Android OS. Maybe it's just a variant of the Galaxy S II that'll hit Verizon. We'll see.

Specs for this smartphone include a 4-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz CPU, an 8MP camera with 720p HD video recording, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, and Android 2.2 with the Sense UI. It's a pretty good smartphone and that's actually not a bad price for it.

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Today is March 11 and that could only mean one thing. Apple releases their next-generation tablet, the iPad 2 to much fanfare and line-ups. This will be available at 5PM in your timezone and you'll be able to snatch one at Apple Stores, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, AT&T, and even Verizon stores. Of course, there's no LTE (4G) model ready so you're stuck with 3G for probably another year. If you don't want to leave your house into the horrible weather outside then you go online at 1AM PT to order it off of Apple's website. Let's see how many they sell.

Update: Check it out on Apple to order yours right now. It'll ship in 3 to 5 business days but you won't have to wait in line. Don't forget that there's a limit to two per order.
