Samsung Gem Dummy Units Finally Start Showing Up At Verizon Stores

Labels: , , , , ,

It has already hit two carriers in the US but it looks like Verizon will actually be launching it in the near future. We've been hearing about the Samsung Gem launching on Verizon since September and it looks like the wait will be over soon. Dummy units have reportedly started showing up at Verizon stores so that's some pretty good news if you're looking for a mid-end Android handset. The Gem shines with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, an 800MHz CPU, and Android with the Touchwiz UI.

Well, well, well. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play has just hit the FCC yet again. This model actually sports global GSM 900 / 2100MHz connectivity so it's likely the one headed to Europe and Asia - sorry Canada and AT&T lovers. Of course, it should be hitting North of the border in a few months but who knows how long we'll have to wait for that one. Check it out at the FCC.

Sony Ericsson Says a "Smarter Walkman Phone Is Coming", Could Be Android Powered

A teaser ad has just leaked from Sony Ericsson that says a "smarter Walkman Phone is coming" but we don't know exactly when the unveiling will be. Of course, this could very well be hinting that Sony Ericsson is planning a Walkman branded Android smartphone but I don't really understand why. They should just stick to the XPERIA name because Walkman just makes it sound like a low-end phone.

LG G-Slate Listed At $699 On An E-Tailer's Website

Thanks to an online e-tailer, MobileCity, it looks like the LG G-Slate may actually launch for $699.99 on at least one website. The MSRP for this product is $799.99 so it's pretty expensive but keep in mind that this is a 4G (HSPA+) tablet with 3D capabilities (camera and display). That's some pretty awesome and innovative stuff even though you're still stuck with just a 7-inch display. You certainly won't find either of those things in an iPad.
