Labels: , , , , ,

At HP's press conference which was earlier this month we heard that the webOS-based Touchpad tablet would be available in the Summer but DigiTimes is reporting that it could actually launch earlier than expected. Reportedly, the tablet could actually ship in late March or early April if things work out. To recap: the Touchpad features a 9.7-inch display with a 1,024 x 768 resolution, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm CPU, 512MB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and webOS 3.0. The WiFi-only version could be the first one available with 3G and even 4G models launching later.

Nokia's CTO Mentions That Their First MeeGo Device Is the N950

Labels: , ,

Nokia's CTO, Rich Green, has just announced what could be something great for the company, the N950. Yes, the Nokia N950 is going to be the first MeeGo handset from the company and if things work out this one will actually hit the market later this year. An actual photo of the handset was nowhere to be found but it might look like the handset you see above - of course, it could also look nothing like it. Specs are unknown right now but this handset is looking like it'll be a dev platform instead of an actual consumer-friendly smartphone. Oh well, at least they now have Windows Phone 7 to fall back on.

10-Inch Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 To Sport "Oak Trail" and Win7 Professional, Expect It At CeBIT

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Fujitsu has mentioned a bit more details regarding their Stylistic Q550, which is a weird name for a Windows 7 based tablet. Well, said tablet will be fully unveiled at CeBIT 2011 which takes place next month (March) and it'll be powered by an Intel "Oak Trail" Atom CPU which is good news if you're looking for a cheap tablet. Furthermore, it's going to be running Windows 7 Professional on its 10-inch LED display but I wonder if "Oak Trail" can handle that.

Other specs include a 32GB / 64GB SSD, dual cameras, a smartcard slot, a fingerprint reader, a USB port, an optional 3G module, and a battery life that will apparently last up to 8 hours. Expect the unveiling next month and you can check out the video below if you want to see more.
