South Korea Gets the LG Optimus 2X, White Model Coming In February

One of the most powerful smartphones has just hit South Korea - the home of StarCraft. Yes, I'm talking about the LG Optimus 2X, which features a dual-core Tegra 2 chipset along with a camera that's capable of recording 1080p HD video content. Like I said, this is available right now and the company has teased a white model which will reportedly be available in February.



LG Optimus V Hitting Virgin Mobile US For $149 Contract-Free

We knew it was on the way and this pretty much confirms it. Virgin Mobile in the US will be releasing the LG Optimus One as the Optimus V and it'll be available for $149.99 contract-free which is pretty good. The Optimus V features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a microSD card slot, a 3.2MP AF camera, a 600MHz Qualcomm CPU, WiFi / Bluetooth support, 3G support, and Android 2.2. Keep in mind that this is a budget Android phone so you get what you pay for.

Mid-End Android-Based Samsung Gem Destined For Cellular South

Samsung looks like they're almost ready to launch their latest handset, dubbed the Gem. This handset has been spotted on their website and will be hitting Cellular South in the US. This handset may be getting official at MWC which takes place in a few weeks so everything will be cleared up by then. The Samsung Gem should feature a 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, a microSDHC card slot, WiFi / GPS support, an 800MHz CPU, and Android 2.1. Check it out on Samsung.

T-Mobile To Release the Pre-Paid Nokia X2 On February 16th

TMoNews has just gotten new information regarding a new Nokia device headed to, well, T-Mobile USA. It's going to be the Nokia X2 (X2-01) which will be available starting on February 16th on their pre-paid line-up. This one features a 2.4-inch display, a QWERTY keyboard, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1 support, a VGA camera, Stereo FM radio with RDS, and the Symbian OS. Sadly, this pre-paid device is missing both WiFi and 3G support so it's an EDGE-only device. Price is still unknown right now but it should be leaked or officially announced soon.

Motorola XOOM To Hit Best Buy On February 17th For $699?

There are likely a lot of people waiting for the Motorola XOOM tablet that's headed to Verizon. Engadget just the scoop and has mentioned that an internal Best Buy picture tells us that it'll be available starting on February 17th. It'll reportedly have 32GB of internal storage and the sexy "Honeycomb" Android OS. This model will, apparently, be going for $699.99 when it hits the carrier - $100 less than the $799.99 price we just heard of.

Toshiba's "Honeycomb" Tablet Gets Teased, Announcement Soon?

We already knew that Toshiba was working on an Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" based tablet and the company has just put up their own little teaser website for it. You can clearly see that the tablet has the traditional four button layout which actually isn't required. This tablet should feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a user-replaceable battery, and the powerful dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset. Mid-End Android-Based LG Optimus Me P350 Leaks and Should Be Announced Soon

MWC is almost here and it's pretty much guaranteed that it'll be dominated by Google's Android OS. Another handset you can bet that you'll be seeing at the event is the mid-end LG Optimus Me P350. Specs aren't confirmed right now but it should be sporting around a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a 3MP camera, WiFi / Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, quad-band GSM / dual-band HSPA connectivity, 140MB of internal storage, a 1,500mAh battery, and possibly Android 2.2. Look out for the official unveiling which should be in three weeks from now.

Amazon Now Taking Pre-Orders For the Acer Aspire One 522 Netbook With AMD APU

Acer's latest AMD Ontario based netbook has just hit the online e-tailer known as Amazon. This netbook features a 10.1-inch display, AMD's new Zacate E-350 APU, Radeon HD 6250 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD, a 4,400mAh battery which will reportedly last for 6 hours, an HDMI output, and Windows 7 Starter Edition. It's definitely one of the more powerful netbooks on paper, so you'll be able to put that HDMI output to good use if you ever need to.
