This is expected to have a Super AMOLED display, an 8MP camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities, a 1GHz CPU, WiFi 802.11n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, and the LiMo OS. This one should make an appearance at CES this week or at MWC next month.

Vizio Announces a Few New Devices; Phone, Tablet, and HDTVs / Blu-ray Players With Google TV

Labels: , , , , , ,

After teasing a few upcoming devices in a video, Vizio has come cleaned and has officially announced a bunch of the latest devices they've been working on. There's the 4-inch phone, dubbed the VIA Phone, an 8-inch tablet, the VIA Tablet, and the last few are VIA Plus HDTVs and Blu-ray players with Google TV built-in. Unfortunately, the company didn't announce the full spec sheets for any of these devices but we do know a bit about them.

The 4-inch VIA Phone will sport WiFi 802.11n support, GPS, a microSD card slot, rear / front-facing cameras, an HDMI output, and an unknown OS. The VIA Tablet will sport an 8-inch display along with a 1GHz CPU and actually doesn't have 3G support so you can expect WiFi on it at least. The device that may appeal to you more may be the HDTVs with Google TV built-in because you already know that Vizio is one of the leading TV makers in the US. With a cheap price tag, maybe this will actually find itself in a few new homes.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro Successor Leaks In China

Labels: , ,

Sony Ericsson just can't stop leaking their devices. This one you see above is reportedly going to be the successor to the XPERIA X10 Mini Pro so it's definitely running Android. Of course, being the "Pro" model, this should also feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard which makes typing on this device a whole lot easier. This handset actually managed to pump 42.5fps on Neocore which is quite impressive. Engadget points out that this is close to what the Nexus S got.

Beneath its 3-inch 320 x 480 multitouch display you can expect a 1GHz CPU with an Adreno 205 GPU along with rear and front-facing cameras and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread". Sony Ericsson is definitely trying to get its mojo back!

It's been long rumoured to be Verizon's first 4G (LTE) smartphone and here it is. DroidLife has just brought us the first photos of the HTC Thunderbolt which will be getting official at CES 2011 this week. This smartphone looks extremely similar to the Desire HD which is a good thing. Of course, this one has 4G connectivity which will give you faster web browsing speeds. On the back of the device, there's a kickstand and it looks like there's a speaker underneath it which is interesting.

It's only a few days from getting official with a launch that should happen soon after the announcement. Check out the link below for a few more photos (11 more, in fact).

Update: According to Boy Genius, the sign-up page for the HTC Thunderbolt is now live. Check it out here.

First Photos of the Dell Streak 7 Leak, T-Mobile Branding On Board

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We already know that Dell has been working on the successor to their 5-inch Dell Streak MID / tablet and Cell Phone Signal has managed to scoop up the first images of said device. This one's the Looking Glass tablet which will reportedly be called the Dell Streak 7. Specs aren't confirmed right now but on the back of the render there's T-Mobile branding so it'll definitely be headed there in the USA. Obviously, it features a 7-inch display, front and rear-facing cameras with a flash, and possibly just Android 2.2. Dell always seems to be behind in the OS version. Maybe we'll see this one get official at CES this week.

Update: Coming from Engadget is word that the Dell Streak 7 has hit the FCC. This one features UMTS bands II, IV, and V which is good enough for T-Mobile and AT&T in the US. Thankfully, this device has WiFi 802.11n / Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support, an SD card slot, and a SIM card slot so it may actually have voice calling capabilities. Apparently, it could also have a Tegra 2 chipset inside of it! Check it out at the FCC.

LG XNote P210 Notebook Packs Core i5 CPU and "World's Thinnest Bezel" Display

Labels: , , , , , ,

Just a few days before CES 2011, LG has revealed their Xnote P210 notebook, which sports a 12.5-inch display. Apparently, the notebook itself is just as big as an 11.6-incher but because the display is said to have the "world's thinnest bezel" the company actually managed to cram a 12.5-inch display on this. That's already an amazing feat but don't call it a netbook. Inside you'll find a dual-core Core i5-470UM 1.33GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD, and Windows 7 Home Premium. This notebook is going to be available in Korea for 1.3 million won (about $1,135 USD) sometime in February.

Samsung M190S Android Smartphone Hitting SK Telecom Soon

Labels: , , , , , ,

A new Android device from Samsung is going to hit South Korea in the near future. What you see above is a photo of the M190S which is going to have a 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA display, a 1GHz CPU, a 5MP camera, a T-DMB TV tuner, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, an HDMI output, and Android 2.2. This smartphone will be hitting SK Telecom in the near future.

This is actually fairly funny. The Samsung Galaxy S (i9000) looks like the iPhone of the past while this one actually resembles an iPhone 4. Samsung also has their notebook that looks similar to a MacBook Pro. I've given Samsung the benefit of the doubt before, but it's pretty clear that they're trying to copy Apple.

Lenovo Unveils ThinkPad X120e Notebook With New AMD Zacate CPU

Labels: , , , ,

Lenovo has just announced their latest notebook and it's another 11.6-incher. Dubbed the ThinkPad X120e, this notebook comes with AMD's new Fusion APU technology and also features Radeon HD 6310 graphics inside. You have your choice between the new AMD Zacate E-240 and E-350 CPUs which should be just fine for educational purposes. The company has made a few improvements in this notebook over the X100e that had a few problems. This notebook should now last 6.5-hours on a single charge (6-cell battery) and it also shouldn't burn your lap if you decide to rest this on there. This will be available in February and the base model will cost you $399.

Unknown Toshiba Tablet Gets Teased Before CES, Packs Tegra 2 and Waits For Sweet "Honeycomb"

Labels: , , , , , ,

Toshiba has just unveiled their latest tablet that will be completely detailed at CES in a few days. Engadget already managed to get their hands-on this device and mentioned that "it may just have what it takes to stick out from the rest". Hopefully, the software won't be bloated. Inside this tablet you'll find a 1,280 x 800 resolution touchscreen display, a dual-core Tegra 2 chipset, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, USB / HDMI ports, a miniUSB port, an SD card slot, and will be running on Android "Honeycomb" which should be announced shortly.

The tablet itself is just 0.6-inches thick and weighs just 1.7 pounds. Sadly, the device that Engadget got to play with wasn't able to be turned on so we can't jump to any conclusions about how amazing this device will be. Of course, with all the tablets that you'll see in the next few days, just try to keep this one in mind. At least, that's what Toshiba wants you to do.
