The Android-based LG Optimus One is already available in the US, via T-Mobile, and it looks like a carrier North of the border will be getting it as well. The Optimus One will be hitting Telus later this month and should be one of the few budget Android handsets that the carrier will have.

The Optimus One features a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 600MHz CPU, a 3.2MP AF camera, WiFi / Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, and Android 2.2.

Confirming the rumours, it'll be launching on "all channels" on November 11th which is Wednesday of next week. This is something to definitely wait for! It's reportedly packing a 1.2GHz CPU so this one is definitely something to save up for. If that's the case, next week will be quite big for the tech industry.

Google Nexus Two (Made By Samsung) Delayed Because Of a Hardware Issue

Labels: , , , , ,

Well, so much for the Google Nexus Two - or Nexus S since it's made by Samsung - being announced at their November 8th event. The latest word on the street is that it has been delayed to a later launch date because of an epic hardware issue. Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" should be getting official on November 11th so maybe the smartphone that we've been hearing about won't be launching with it off the bat. Worst case scenario, this device launches in early 2011 with Android "Honeycomb".

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

BGR is back at it again with their exclusive information. This time it's regarding Rogers' Q4 prices and it basically confirms what handsets are on the way. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 leak is above and it'll be available for $149.99 on a 3-year contract which is fairly standard. Other leaked prices include: the Nokia N8 for $79.99 on a 3-year contract ($449.99 contract-free), the Samsung Focus for $199.99 on a 3-year ($599.99 contract-free - expensive), and the Dell Streak for $149.99 on a 3-year contract ($549.99 contract-free). BGR says that internally the word is that the Galaxy Tab will cost $199.99 on a 3-year contract and $299.99 on a 2-year contract so we'll have to see if that turns out to be true. Lastly, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro will be available to buy with a $10 unlimited data plan if you're interested.

Unfortunately, the release dates for any of these are unknown right now. The Bold 9780 should be launching on November 9th though, which is next Tuesday. Check out the link below for a rest of the [many] pictures that they leaked.

AT&T looks like they're just about ready to launch two Motorola handsets, the Flipside and the Bravo. The carrier is reportedly now getting shipments of both of these dummy units. Labels: , ,

We already know that Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread is on the way from Google but when exactly will it be? According to the latest rumour it'll be ready on Wednesday, November 11th, which is next week. This is the same date that's rumoured for the Nexus Two to launch but Samsung shot down those rumours. Maybe it's still true. Only time will tell at this point.
