Rogers' Dell Streak Will Cost You $149 On a 3-Year, $599 Contract-Free

Labels: , , , , , , ,

This morning Mobile Syrup leaked the prices for the Rogers Samsung Galaxy Tab and the website is back at it again. This time they have managed to dig up the prices for the Dell Streak which should be hitting Rogers any day now. The Dell Streak Android-based MID will be available for $149.99 on a 3-year contract (surprisingly less than the Galaxy S Captivate), $399.99 on a 2-year contract, $549.99 on a 1-year contract, and for $599.99 contract-free.

The Streak features a 5-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 5MP AF camera with a dual-LED flash, a front-facing camera, a microSD card slot, GPS / WiFi / Bluetooth support, and Android 1.6 - with an upgrade to version 2.1 later this year.

Virgin Mobile Canada To Launch the BlackBerry Bold 9780 On Nov. 9th, Galaxy S On the 15th

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

A tipster from Boy Genius has just mentioned that Virgin Mobile in Canada is just about ready to launch the BlackBerry Bold 9780, the LG Flick, and Samsung Galaxy 550 (aka the i5500), and the Galaxy S. The two smartphones that are the most interesting on this is, of course, the Bold 9780, which will apparently launch on November 9th (next week), and the Galaxy S, which will be launching on November 15th. Right now we don't know which model of the Galaxy S they'll be getting but you should already know the spec sheet by now since most of the Galaxy S's sport [more or less] the exact same ones. Bell owns Virgin Mobile and they managed to get the European Galaxy S which has a front-facing camera; maybe they'll be getting the same one.

Verizon Pre-Sale For the Motorola DROID Pro Starts On Nov. 9th, Launch On the 18th

Labels: , , , , ,

Android Central has just gotten a tip that Verizon will be taking pre-orders for the Motorola DROID Pro starting on November 9th, which is the coming Tuesday. If you manage to pre-order one you can expect a delivery on November 10th or the 11th. This is a bit before the official launch which will be taking place on November 18th. All that's well and good so you might want to save up $199 for it because that's how much it'll likely cost on a 2-year contract - after rebates, naturally.

Bell's Samsung Galaxy Tab To Go For $649.95 Contract-Free, Shipping By November 16th

Labels: , , , , , ,

Rogers' prices leaked out this morning and it looks like Bell's may have as well. Apparently, the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be hitting Bell for $649.95 contract-free and it's "expected to ship by November 16, 2010" which is just about two weeks away. This price pegs it about $25 cheaper than what Rogers will be offering it for so that's always good.

Labels: , , , , , ,

As expected, T-Mobile USA has released the rugged Android-based Motorola Defy. This smartphone is available right now for $99.99 on a 2-year contract and this is a pretty sweet deal. Of course, there are other retailers out there offering it for a bit cheaper. The Defy features a 3.7-inch Gorilla Glass display, 2GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 512MB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, 5MP AF camera with an LED flash, an 800MHz CPU, an FM radio with RDS, and Android 2.1. Rogers' Samsung Galaxy Tab Prices Get Leaked, Pretty Pricey

Labels: , , , , , ,

We already know that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be hitting Rogers in Canada but we still don't know when or for how much. Thankfully, half of that has been resolved. The leaked [but blurry] picture above says that the Galaxy Tab will be available for $539.99 on a 3-year contract, $564.99 on a 2-year contract, $599.99 on a 1-year contract, and for $674.99 contract-free. Of course, these prices are just screaming at you to take the contract-free price because there's really no point of getting this on a 3-year contract.

In case you forgot, the Galaxy Tab sports a 7-inch touchscreen display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, a rear-facing 3MP camera, a front-facing camera, a 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, WiFi / Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, and Android 2.2.

Telus Launching the HTC 7 Surround and LG Optimus 7 On November 8th For $99

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Telus has just confirmed that they'll be launching their first two Windows Phone 7 smartphones on November 8th. The handsets I'm talking about are the HTC 7 Surround (pictured above) and the LG (E900) Optimus 7. Both of these handsets will be available for just $99 on a 3-year contract (promo price). In case you forgot, the HTC model has a slide-out speaker while the LG one features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard instead. This is definitely worth it and it's definitely a competitor to RIM and the cheap Android handsets that the carrier has. Check out the official announcement from Telus.

Samsung Showing Off New 7-Inch Super AMOLED Display At FPD, Could Be In a Future Galaxy Tab

Labels: , , , , , ,

The Samsung Galaxy Tab hasn't been available for that long but it looks like Samsung is already ready to unveil a new display that could hit a model next year. At FPD International this year, Samsung Mobile Display will be showing off a new Super AMOLED display which measures 7-inches across and sports a 1,200 x 600 resolution. This display will be going into full production in mid-2011 so we could be seeing a new Galaxy Tab around the same time - hopefully running Android (Honeycomb / Ice Cream). This is some pretty great news since the Super AMOLED display sports a slightly higher resolution and could save you some battery life in the long-run.
