Labels: , , , , , , ,

German e-tailers have listed two upcoming Windows Phone 7 smartphones. The first one is the HTC 7 Trophy which will be the cheaper of the two, currently listed on Simyo for €428.40 ($575 USD). The other one has been spotted on Amazon Germany for €499 ($670 USD) and it's the LG Optimus 7 (E900). The Amazon listing also tells us that the Optimus 7 will feature a 3.5-inch touchscreen display along with a 5MP camera. We should see these two at the official launch of Microsoft's Windows Phone 7.

Samsung i8700 Gets Approved By the GCF, Headed To Europe

Labels: , , , ,

At this point we already know that the Samsung i8700 will be a Windows Phone 7 smartphone and it looks like it has just hit the GCF. The Unwired spotted this one this morning and this one's definitely going to be hitting Europe. This smartphone supports quad-band GSM connectivity (900/1900/2100 MHz bands) so that's good enough for 3G overseas. If you're looking to pick this one up then you better hope for the North American model in the next few weeks.

Rogers Internal Systems Could Mean White iPhone 4's Soon

Labels: , , , , ,

In Rogers' own systems, it looks like they could be launch Apple's iPhone 4 in white in the near future. Of course, the white model won't cost more than the black one but I doubt they'll have them for long if they do get them soon. The screenshot says it'll cost $359 for the 16GB model and $469 for the 32GB model. The white model actually hasn't been available anywhere so it'll be really surprising to see it launch in Canada before anywhere else so maybe AT&T will release them soon as well.

RIM is holding their DevCon event right now and they have just jumped onto the tablet wagon. Dubbed the PlayBook (slightly better than BlackPad or SurfBook), this tablet sports a 7-inch display (1,024 x 600 resolution), an ARM Cortex A9 dual-core 1GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, an e-reader feature, microHDMI / microUSB ports, 1080p video playback, a front-facing 3MP HD camera, a rear-facing 5MP camera, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth support, a 9.7mm thin body, HTML5 / Adobe Flash support, DLNA, BlackBerry App World access, and an OS made by QNX. This WiFi-only tablet (for now, at least) will, of course, "pair up" with your BlackBerry and will be available in early 2011. They're calling this the "first professional tablet" and it looks like it actually has some potential! Check out the video below if you're interested. As of right now, the price, battery life, and internal storage are still unknown.

Motorola DROID 2 R2-D2 Edition Hitting Verizon On September 30th

Labels: , , ,

Verizon has finally confirmed that the Motorola DROID 2 R2-D2 Edition will be available online and in select stores starting on September 30th. That's just three days away for you Star Wars nerds out there. Unfortunately, this edition will come at a slight premium, costing you $249 on a 2-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate which is an extra $50 than the original one. It's just a small price to pay for a collector's item.

Sharp Announces the Galapagos, Comes In 5.5 and 10.8-Inch Tablet Models

Labels: , , , , ,

This morning Sharp has just announced two of their tablets / e-book readers, dubbed the Galapagos. The "Mobile Type" model is smaller, sporting a 5.5-inch LCD touchscreen display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution and sports a trackball for some extra navigation. The larger "Home Type" model doesn't have a trackball but it does sport a larger 10.8-inch LCD display with a 1,366 x 800 resolution so you'll have to use your fingers to scroll through the pages.

Both of these Galapagos devices have WiFi b/g support, games (via apps), a pre-installed social app, and some version of Android. This is expected to hit the Japanese market in December of this year. It's not exactly the biggest splash of the year, but it should be a decent device.

Other details are still unknown but you can count on these making an impact in the near future - or next year since HTC's tablet is still expected to launch in Q1 2011.

German Paper Says the Nintendo 3DS Will Launch On November 11th

Labels: , , , , ,

While it's unconfirmed when the Nintendo 3DS will launch some rumours are swirling around this morning. According to a German paper, Bild, the 3DS will be launching on November 11th in Japan with a European launch apparently scheduled for Spring of 2011. This is the exact same date we heard about two weeks ago so maybe this date is actually legit. Bild also mentions that some games that will be available for the 3DS launch include: Mario Kart 3D, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle. It's just a rumour right now so don't get your hopes up.

Toshiba TG03 Approved By the GCF, To Be a Windows Phone 7 Smartphone

Labels: , , , ,

Yet another Windows Phone 7 smartphone has just been approved by the GCF. This time it's the Samsung TG03 that should've launched a long time ago with WinMo 6.5 but that obviously wasn't the case. This new model will be running WP7 and will feature quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE / tri-band UMTS/HSPA (800/850/2100) connectivity. Specs are unknown right now but keep in mind that the TG01 and TG02 did sport Snapdragon CPUs so maybe this one will as well. Check it out at the GCF if you have a lot of time on your hands.

HTC P10110 User-Manual Leaked At the FCC, Shows No 3G Support!?

Labels: ,

The HTC P10110 has shown up at the FCC and the user-manual has just leaked out. Unfortunately, if the manual is correct, this smartphone doesn't have support for 3G which would be really weird. They must be hiding it or something because I highly doubt that this won't have 3G (what smartphone doesn't have 3G nowadays?). Furthermore, there is a short-term confidentiality request so maybe that's being kept on the down low for some reason (maybe there's 4G?). Anyways, other specs include WiFi b/g/n support, Bluetooth, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/1900 MHz) connectivity. The device is about 12 x 5.5cm so it's not the smallest or the largest out there.

LG XOXO Smartphone Sports a 3.8-Inch Display With a 1,024 x 480 Resolution

Labels: , ,

LG has shown off a new phone that is intended for the Korean Market. Dubbed the XOXO, short for Hugs & Kisses, the best part about this smartphone may be its 3.8-inch touchscreen display which sports a 1,024 x 480 resolution. The resolution may not beat the iPhone 4's retina display but this definitely does sport a wide angle for watching movies. Other specs include a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities, WiFi support, and DivX support. This is available in Korea right now for 700,000 Korea won which is about $610 USD.
