HTC HD7 Shows Up With a Kickstand, Just As Big As the HD2 -- Specs Leaked!

Labels: , , ,

This morning, a sketch of the supposed HTC HD7 was leaked and later on in the day - that being now - a new leak has been caught. The picture above is the smartphone in the wild with its Windows Phone 7 OS and all (on the left). The handset on the right is the 7 Trophy that popped up last week. This smartphone is said to feature a 4.3-inch WVGA display, a 5MP camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, 8GB of internal storage, and a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU. Apparently, the 8GB of internal storage will be in a non-removable microSD card slot so hopefully that's not true. As you can see, it'll be just about as large as the HD2 - dwarfing most of the other phones out there. The photo below shows off its kickstand.

Update: Below the photo below is a chart. WMPowerUser leaked it this morning and it's the full spec sheet for the HD7. What a great scoop! By the way, the leaked spec sheet says that it'll be going to be available on T-Mobile USA sometime in the future - maybe in the next month if we're lucky!

First Motorola DROID 2 World Edition Pictures Leak, CPU To Be Clocked At 1.2GHz?

Labels: , , , ,

Coming from DROID-Life are the two pictures you see above and below of the Verizon Motorola DROID 2 World Edition. This smartphone should basically be the same as the old DROID 2 but it'll be a dual-capability device so it'll work on Verizon's CDMA network in USA and GSM networks if you're somewhere else. This model isn't dressed in all black, instead it has picked up a white backing so you'll be able to tell the two apart. Launch could be in the next month or so.

Update: According to Boy Genius, the DROID 2 World Edition may actually have a speedier 1.2GHz CPU. This was according to the benchmarks, so this could actually be true!

Motorola Flipout Hitting the US (AT&T) Before the Holidays

Labels: , , , ,

It's available in Canada via Rogers but it surprisingly hasn't hit a carrier (AT&T) in the US yet. Today Motorola has confirmed that their Android-based Flipout will be hitting the US before the holidays which means it'll be available in the next month or two. No rumoured launch dates are being tossed around right now so all we can really do is wait.

Pantech P9050 Gets Spotted At the FCC, Headed To AT&T As the Sparrow?

Labels: , , , , ,

The phone above may look like it's something from Samsung but it's not. This was just spotted at the FCC and it's the Pantech P9050 which is reportedly headed to AT&T. When it hits the carrier it could be called the Sparrow. Specs are said to be a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth / GPS support, a 3MP camera, dual-band GSM/WCDMA connectivity, and a 3.1-inch display with a 480 x 800 resolution which seems like an excellent PPI display if that's true. The OS, unfortunately, is still unknown so we'll have to wait around for that.

BlackBerry 9570 To Be a Refreshed Storm 2 aka Not the Storm 3? Caught In the Wild

Labels: , , , , , , ,

If what we're hearing is true then we could actually see two RIM BlackBerry Storm smartphones launch before the end of the year. What you see above is the BlackBerry 9570 which actually won't be a Storm 3; it'll actually be a refreshed Storm 2 - so like a Storm 2.5. This smartphone will feature CDMA connectivity, 512MB of RAM, a 5MP camera, WiFi support, and OS 6.0. If this hits Canada then it could be on its way to Bell and Telus; in the US it could be headed to Verizon.

Update: CrackBerry (via BBLeaks) has just managed to their hands on another photo of the handset (below). It definitely looks the same as the Storm 2.

T-Mobile G2 Pre-Orders Start "Soon", Launch Could Be October 16th

Labels: , , , , ,

According to the latest word going around you'll be able to pre-order the Android-based T-Mobile G2 "soon". Of course, you can just head over to Best Buy to pre-order one but I'm talking about pre-ordering one directly though T-Mobile - either online or in stores. Of course, this would mean that the launch should be taking place in a couple of weeks. TMoNews has mentioned that the launch date could be October 16th - a bit off from the rumoured October 6th date. Either way, you'll be able to get this slider with the new Qualcomm 800MHz CPU soon, so just wait for it.

Beneath the gargantuan 18.4-inch display you'll be getting Core i5 / i7 CPU options, a bunch of SSD storage options, up to 8GB of RAM, a backlit keyboard, and Harman Kardon speakers with 5.1-channel audio. Neofonie's WeTab MeeGo Tablet Shipping Without an App Store

Labels: , , ,

Neofonie's WeTab / WePad tablet has taken its time finding its way onto the market. Sadly, the news that is being mentioned today may have already hindered the WeTab's potential. Apparently, the MeeGo-based tablet won't be launching with any sort of app store so you'll have to stick with good old Internet browsing. Of course, if you don't need an app store then this tablet will be just fine for you. For the rest of you, there's the iPad or the Samsung Galaxy Tab to choose from.

HTC HD7 Leaks, Sticks With the 4.3-Inch Display!

Labels: , , , ,

Well, this definitely clears up the HTC HD7 talk. An exclusive piece from WMPowerUser points out that the HD7 will look like what you see above. Of course, it's not a real picture of the handset in the wild but that's what it'll look like when it leaks out with its big black body. The 4.3-inch screen is a keeper so don't expect anything less; the three touch-sensitive buttons stay the same, no surprise there. Look out for another leak of this smartphone in the coming days / weeks.
