LG C900 WP7 Handset Said To Have 1.3GHz Snapdragon Too Along With Metal Frame

Labels: , , , , , ,

I don't know why Android.com.pl is getting the scoop on Windows Phone 7 handsets but it looks like the LG C900 is another handset that may have got a little juicier. Apparently, this handset will be sporting an metal frame, and although it's only sporting a 3.2-inch display will weigh just about as much as the Motorola DROID. Furthermore, this smartphone may also sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650A, which is said to be a 1.3GHz CPU. However, like the E900 it may actually just be the good ol' QSD8650 1GHz CPU thanks to Google Translate's error. The C900 is said to cost around $350 which definitely would be cheap if it really does have a 1.3GHz CPU and a metal frame.

Archos Announces Five Different PMP's / Tablets With Android On-Board

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Archos has announced five new Android "tablets" and some of them are PMPs. There's the Archos 28, 32, 43, 70, and 101 and those numbers represent their sizes. The first one is the smallest one sporting a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen display with a 240 x 320 resolution, WiFi support, 4GB of internal storage, an ARM Cortex A8 800MHz CPU, and access to the AppsLib app store because it doesn't have access to the official Android Market. This PMP will be available in late September for $99.99.

Next up is the Archos 32 which sports a 3.2-inch touchscreen display. Inside you'll be getting 8GB of internal storage, a camera on the back which will be capable of recording 720p HD video, and a composite port. This will be available in mid-September for $149.99.

Next up is the Archos 43 with a 4.3-inch resistive touchscreen display. Beneath that you'll find a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, a 0.35-inch body, a camera that can record 720p HD video, and Android 2.2. This will be available in mid-October for $199.99, so look out for it.

Archos has gone on to announce the 70 which sports a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a front-facing VGA camera, a USB port, a miniHDMI port, some pre-loaded video chat application, and Android 2.2. The bad part about this tablet is that it does not have a camera on the back and you'll have to wait until mid-October where it'll hit the market for $274.99.

Last, but not least, there's the Archos 101. Of course, this tablet sports a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 1GHz CPU, a front-facing VGA camera, USB / HDMI ports, and a 0.5-inch thin body. This tablet is said to launch in mid-October with a $300 price tag.

Labels: , , , ,

Another BlackBerry from RIM has just poked out and it's the Curve 8980. Unfortunately, this one isn't headed to North America since it's on its way to China Mobile. Don't get confused with the naming though because this one is actually a bit better than the Curve 3G (9300). Besides just having EDGE connectivity, it has a 3.2MP camera, WiFi support, 256MB of RAM, GPS support, a QWERTY keyboard, an optical trackpad, and a 360 x 480 resolution display. The release date and pricing is still unknown so we'll have to wait around for that crucial information.

The Motorola DROID 2 has been available in the US for a while now and it looks like it will definitely be headed to a couple of places outside of the nation (like Europe and even Canada). Thanks to Motorola uploading a video on YouTube then quickly pulling it off, it should get just about official. Of course, it will be called the Milestone 2 and it should feature the same spec sheet: a 3.7-inch display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1GHz TI OMAP SoC, 512MB of RAM, a 5MP camera, and Android 2.2. Well, the launch is still unknown so we'll have to wait for some more information from Motorola.

Viewsonic's ViewPad 7 Tablet Gets Official, Sporting Android 2.2, Phone Functionalities, and 600MHz CPU

Labels: , , , , ,

ViewSonic has just made their ViewPad 7 tablet official, days before IFA mind you, and it's got a pretty decent spec sheet. It starts off pretty good with a 7-inch display (480 x 800 resolution), phone capabilities, front and back-facing cameras, 3G connectivity, a SIM card slot, and Android 2.2 "Froyo". But that's where it all goes downhill. Apparently, this tablet will just be a rebranded OlivePad VT100. That means this tablet will feature a 600MHz ARM CPU. Fortunately, this tablet is said to cost no more than £350 ($543 USD) in the UK; review units should be available in October so maybe a launch would follow a couple of days / weeks after that.

LG E900 (Optimus 7) WP7 Handset Leaks Out Again, Sporting 1.3GHz Qualcomm CPU?

Labels: , , , , , ,

We've seen the LG E900 before and it could be launching as the Optimus 7. Well, whatever it launches as doesn't really matter. The important part is that today a picture has just leaked out and it looks damn great for an LG phone. There's a video below if you're willing to check it out. Beneath the 3.7-inch display, there's said to be a 1.3GHz Qualcomm QSD8650A CPU, GPS support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a miniUSB port, and multi-mode UMTS / CDMA 3G connectivity. Maybe Microsoft didn't make a mistake picking LG as the primary company for their WP7 OS.

Update: According to WMExperts, this handset actually may not have a 1.3GHz CPU like it says. In case you forgot, the QSD8650 chip is a 1GHz one and that "A" at the end was actually thrown in by Google Translate. Oh well.
