BlackBerry 9670 Flip Phone Also Hitting Sprint In a Few Months

Labels: , , , ,

It's been a while since we've heard anything about the BlackBerry 9670 flip phone smartphone from RIM but it looks like Verizon and US Cellular won't be the only two carriers launching it in the USA. Apparently, the smartphone is also headed to Sprint in the next couple of months and Boy Genius' sources have reportedly mentioned that they're actually testing out Sprint-branded BB 9670's already. Hopefully these leak again before the release date - with the real Sprint-branding, of course.

T-Mobile To Get the Motorola "Jordan", A Rugged Android Smartphone

Labels: , , , ,

There's a new Motorola Android smartphone that made the rounds yesterday but I was extremely busy and didn't get around to it. Codenamed the Motorola "Jordan" (hence the picture), this smartphone is said to be rugged, will survive under 10 meters of water, and it's also IP67 certified so it'll basically survive anything. The rumour is also stating that this smartphone is headed to T-Mobile this November but it might not be all that cheap because you always have to pay extra for some toughness in your devices.

Boxy Motorola Smartphone Codenamed the Chindi, On Its Way To AT&T -- It's the Flipout

Labels: , , , , , ,

We first heard about the smartphone you see above way back in April. The smartphone is said to be codenamed the Motorola Chindi and it will reportedly be hitting AT&T sometime in the future. The rumoured specs for this handset are said to be a 3.1MP camera and Android with MOTOBLUR but that's just about all we know. Below is a shot of the back of the smartphone and it's looking gold-orange or something like that.

Update: Apparently, the smartphone is just the Motorola Flipout that AT&T will be getting.

Telus Bringing the Samsung Galaxy Apollo To Canada Before the School Season

Labels: , , , , , ,

Okay, so a bunch of people have been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Apollo in Canada but the wait could be over soon. In the next couple of weeks, Telus will be launching the Android-based smartphone and it will be available just in time for the "Back to School" season. The Apollo packs a 3.2-inch AMOLED display, a 5MP camera that will record 720p HD video, Swype, WiFi support, and Android with the Touchwiz UI (likely version 2.1). Seeing how the carrier already has the HTC Desire it should cost less than that judging on the spec sheet.

Huawei Readying Up the Ideos (U8150-B) Smartphone, Hits the GCF and FCC With Android 2.2

Labels: , , , , , ,

The GCF (Global Certification Forum) has just approved another Android-based handset, the Huawei Ideos U8150-B. This smartphone will be running on version 2.2 "Froyo" of the OS so that's off to a pretty good start. Sadly, the rest of the specs are just mid-level. The Ideos will pack a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, a microSD card slot, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE / quad-band UMTS/HSDPA (850/1700/1900/2100MHz) WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, GPS, a 3.2MP camera with a dual-LED flash, and a 1,200mAh battery. We don't know when it will be available but there was a listing up on Clove last week and it listed the handset for £169.36 ($265 USD) unlocked.

Update: According to Phandroid, the Huawei Ideos has actually hit the FCC as well, so you can check out the filing here. There's a photo of said smartphone above.
