Android-Based Modu W Hits the FCC, It's the T-Phone

Labels: , , , ,

Modu's Android-based, the T-Phone, has just hit the FCC (filing here). The FCC filing points out that Modu may have decided to change its name to simply the "W". The Modu W is going to be the smallest Android phone and also the world's lightest touchscreen phone. Sadly, it won't be packing 3G functionalities but it'll be pretty impossible to type on the virtual QWERTY keyboard so is there really a point? It will have WiFi though.

Verizon Inventory Screenshots Leak Out; DROID Pro (A957), DROID 2 (World Edition) White DROID 2, and MZ600 Tablet

Labels: , , , , ,

A Verizon inventory screenshot shows and confirms that the carrier will be launching a bunch of devices in the future. The one above shows the Motorola DROID Pro (A957 model number) which is rumoured to be sporting a 4-inch display, a 1.3GHz CPU, and global roaming capabilities. There's also another version of the DROID 2 (A956) which could sport global roaming capabilities. There's also word of a white DROID 2 hitting the carrier which could actually just be the R2D2 edition. Below there seems to be the Motorola MZ600 tablet which should be sporting the Android OS as well, so everything going forward for Motorola is definitely Android - if you didn't already know that before. BGR is pretty awesome regarding these leaks.

Update: According to Droid-Life, the Motorola MZ600 tablet could actually be called the Motorola STINGRAY when it hits the carrier. The image is below if you don't believe my word and the cached Verizon page is here.

Rogers Getting the White (and Exclusive?) BlackBerry Torch In Canada?

Labels: , , , , ,

We already know that the three major carriers (and Virgin Mobile) in Canada will be getting the BlackBerry Torch (9800) but Rogers could be getting an exclusive colour: white, of course. In July we heard that Rogers would be gaining exclusive rights to the Torch 9800 but that turned out to be false. Maybe they forgot to mention that Rogers will get an exclusive white BB Torch, which makes sense seeing how they have white colours to pretty much every BlackBerry they have. It could be possible.

14-Inch MSI FX400 Notebook Specs Get Announced, Price and Release Date Still TBA

Labels: , ,

Way back in March, at CeBIT, MSI showed off their FX400 notebook. The 14-incher's specs have just been mentioned so we know a bit more information about the FX400 notebook. This packs an Intel Core i5 CPU, Nvidia GeForce GT325M graphics, 250GB / 320GB / 500GB HDD options, a dual-layer DVD drive, WiFi / Bluetooth support, a 1.3MP webcam, and a 6-cell battery. The notebook itself doesn't have Nvidia's Optimus technology but MSI's own GPU Boost feature is pretty similar since it turns off the dedicated GPU when you don't need it. Of course, MSI hasn't announced the price or the release date for this notebook.

iOS 4 Hints At CDMA Verizon iPhone and iPad 2, Could Be Undergoing Testing Right Now

Labels: , , , , , ,

Hmm, well, this is interesting. According to the iOS 4 code, BGR might have spotted something very interesting. Apparently, the Verizon CDMA iPhone and the next iPad could be being tested as we speak. This code usually shows up before the launch of a major iPhone / device release BGR points out. Of course, we won't be seeing leaks of what the device looks like again; that iPhone 4 leak was a once in a lifetime chance.

HTC Ace / Desire HD Shows Up On Amazon UK For a Bit, £415 Unlocked

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like Amazon UK has pretty much confirmed that the HTC Ace will be the Desire HD when it launches. The listing suggests that it's "Out of Stock" but it mentions that it'll be available on October 1st. Of course, everyone should be expecting the announcement of this smartphone on September 15th. The listing does mention that it'll be available for £415 unlocked ($650 USD) whenever they launch it. Unfortunately, the listing never mentioned any specs so we'll just have to go by the rumours.

Update: The listing has been pulled, but I swear to you that it was up this morning.

The render above is also showing the dock and it has reportedly passed the prototype stage. You can expect this tablet to make an appearance at IFA in early September.
