BlackBerry 9780 Outed In a UAProf Document, First Live Picture!

Labels: , ,

Another BlackBerry has been spotted in a UAProf document, this time it's got the model number 9780. It's unknown what this could be but this smartphone features a 360 x 480 resolution, WiFi b/g support, GSM (3G) connectivity, and BlackBerry OS 6.0. Maybe this is the touchscreen BlackBerry Bold but that's supposed to be the BB 9900 or something. So yup, we have no clue what this could be.

Update: CrackBerry has picked up an image of the BB 9780 - and, yes, that was quick! The smartphone is packing 512MB of RAM along with BB OS 6.0. Of course, it's a Bold 9700 with some very minimal differences. Since the BB 9780 will be launching with OS 6.0 maybe the 9700 won't be getting it.

Bell Getting the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant On August 6th For $599.99 Contract-Free

Labels: , , , , , , ,

It looks like we won't have to wait until September for Rogers to get their Samsung Galaxy S variant. Bell in Canada is going to be launching the Samsung Vibrant over the next two weeks - possibly August 6th - and it'll be available for $599 contract-free. Of course, the 3-year contract will be much lower than that but you can expect a $199.95 price tag after rebates. The most interesting part about all of this news is that the Vibrant that Bell will be getting sports a different look from the T-Mobile USA Vibrant. The Galaxy S is sporting two touch-sensitive buttons along with a trackpad huge Home button - like the Galaxy S that Europe currently has. This is definitely great news and it's definitely great competition for the iPhone 4 which will be hitting all of Canada on July 30th. Check out the Vibrant on Bell here.

Update: The anonymous commenter below mentioned that the large button on the Galaxy S actually isn't a trackpad like I thought it was. It's actually just a large home button which is actually quite sad.

In case you never believed that Rogers would be getting the BlackBerry Curve 3G (9300) then you no longer need to doubt it. In Q3, they'll definitely be launching the smartphone. The smartphone is said to be identical to the Curve 8520 but it'll have WiFi 802.11n, and a "new" trackpad. It's unknown whether it'll have OS 6.0 or not, so that's really the only news that's left to be answered.

Apple To Refresh iMac's In the Near Future With Intel Core 2010 CPUs

Labels: , , , ,

There's been word lately that Apple is running out of their all-in-one PC, the iMac, supply because there's a refresh coming. Of course, this new refresh should bring Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPU options and what we heard last week. On these new iMac's there could also be USB 3.0 ports along with FireWire 1600 / 3200. The iMac is also rumoured to be gaining a touchscreen display - could that mean a new update to the OS too?

Apple's White iPhone 4 Not Shipping Until "Later This Year", Not July Anymore

Labels: , ,

Sad times for people who are waiting for white iPhone 4 from Apple. The company has just announced that it won't be arriving in "late July" like they said. They've cited the same manufacturing problems from before and the expected release date for the white model is "later this year." whenever that is. Maybe they've decided to wait until after September and maybe they've fixed the antenna issue...
