More Verizon Leaks Show Off DROID 2, Storm 3, and a New Pre-Like DROID

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

We just heard about a bunch of new Verizon devices this morning and we have a bit more information about them now - along with a new one. The first is above and it shows a bunch of DROID 2 photos. Engadget is hearing that the smartphone will cost you $199.99 on a 2-year contract, $599.99 contract-free, and there'll be an 8GB microSD card pre-installed. Like I said, this smartphone could be available starting on August 23, so just mark that down in pencil on your calendar.

The madness doesn't stop there. The leaked slideshow picture you see above is apparently the BlackBerry Storm 3 which is also headed to Verizon in the holiday season of this year. As you can [barely] see, the Storm 3 should feature WiFi 802.11n support, a 5MP camera, 512MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and the oh-so-important BB OS 6.0 with the WebKit browser. This smartphone can also be used as a 3G mobile hotspot so that's some good news. As you can see, it looks pretty much the same as the other two Storm's so the display should stay the same - 3.25-inches.

The other handset that Verizon will be getting is another one that will be in their DROID line-up. This smartphone is different from the rest, packing a slide-up QWERTY keyboard along with four touch-sensitive buttons and a touchscreen display. Of course, the OS will be Android here and it's from Motorola. The specs are unknown yet, but you can call it the Motorola DROID Pre if you want to.

Bell Getting the BlackBerry Curve 3G (9300) and the HTC Wildfire

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Two new smartphones are headed to Canada, special thanks to Bell. The first one is above and it'll be the BlackBerry Curve 3G. This smartphone is actually what we've known to be the Curve 9300. The Curve 3G will be available soon and will feature HSPA connectivity, 256MB of flash and RAM, a QWERTY keyboard (of course), and Bluetooth 2.1. The bad part about all this is that it isn't much different from the Curve 8530 since it doesn't even have BB OS 6.0.

The other smartphone is running Android and is always being touted as the mini HTC Desire. The HTC Wildfire will be hitting the carrier as well. Unfortunately, we don't know when this handset will be hitting the carrier so we'll just have to wait around for it.

As expected, the Motorola i1 equipped with Android is headed North of the border, to Telus' MiKE network. The exact release date and pricing is still unknown, but it's coming sometime in the Fall. In case you forgot, the i1 features a 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen display (320 x 480 resolution), a 5MP camera, WiFi / GPS support, a microSD card slot, and possibly just Android 1.5. Two more notebooks in Asus' own UL Series looks like they're now available in the USA if you want to scoop them up. The first one is the 12.1-inch Asus UL20FT while the other is the 14-inch UL80JT. Sadly, they're both running Intel Core i3-330UM 1.2GHz CPUs so they're not all that powerful. The smaller notebook also packs 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320GB HDD, integrated Intel GMA X4500MHD graphics, and other standard notebook specs. The larger notebook features 4GB of DDR3 RAM as a standard, a 500GB HDD, an HDMI port, and Nvidia 310M graphics. The UL20FT is available for $629 on ExcaliberPC, while the UL80JT is available for $899 on Amazon.

Update: According to Liliputing, the UL20FT is now available for just about $630 on Amazon US as well. Check it out!

Verizon Set To Get the DROID 2, BlackBerry Storm 3, Curve 3 (9300), and 10.1-Inch Tablet This Year

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Out of nowhere Engadget has picked up another Verizon leak. This time it outlines a bunch of devices that will likely be hitting the carrier later on this year. This, of course, includes the DROID 2 along with the BlackBerry Storm 3, Curve 3, and even a 10.1-inch tablet. The Storm 3 is a possible launch for the holiday season and could be the 9800 but I doubt it. It'll likely be similar to the original Storm and the Storm 2 - that is, no slide-up QWERTY keyboard. The Curve 3 is likely the Curve 9300 that we've been hearing about lately. Unfortunately, we don't know much about the 10.1-inch tablet that's on the way. It could either be a RIM BlackBerry tablet (different size from the rumoured 8.9 and 7-inch ones) or one running Android.
