Verizon and Motorola's DROID X Pictured Beside the EVO 4G, iPhone 3G, and the DROID Eris

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

If you thought the HTC EVO 4G was huge, then here's a picture of the Motorola DROID X (and an iPhone 3G) right beside it. As you can see the DROID X is slightly taller than the EVO 4G, but it does look a bit thinner (I could be wrong about that) - they both feature 4.3-inch displays. There's also a picture below of it beside the HTC DROID Eris. I want to see this phone beside the DROID 2, to be honest.

Sony Ericsson Zylo Hits the FCC, Two People Cheer

Labels: , , ,

This handset was announced two months ago and the Sony Ericsson Zylo looks like it has just been spotted at the FCC. It's sporting GMS and UMTS bands I and VIII so that's 900 / 2100MHz. We don't know which carriers will get this handset right now, so we'll have to wait a bit for that information. Check out the FCC filing here.

Labels: , , , ,

Yes, AT&T will be opening their stores at 7AM on June 24th for the iPhone 4. You can also expect AT&T employees to be wearing the "Special T-Shirt" you see above with their "new globe design on the front and the 'Rethink Possible' tag line on the back." I wonder who will be first in line...

Verizon Launching the DROID X In July, DROID 2 To Get Froyo For Its August Release

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Apparently, the DROID 2 won't be hitting Verizon in July. The DROID X will be hitting the carrier in July and then the DROID 2 will reportedly launch sometime in August. The reason for the DROID 2's slight delay is that they're going to get version 2.2 "Froyo" on there along with whatever skin they put on it. And in case you're interested, the original DROID has dropped in price so you can scoop it up for $149.99.

Samsung M100S From Korea To Launch As the Galaxy Apollo Somewhere Else

Labels: , , , ,

Samsung looks like they're going to be releasing another Android-based handset that'll take the Galaxy naming. This is going to be the Galaxy Apollo and it has actually hit Asia already. Engadget points out that this handset is the SHW-M100S that hit Korea about two months ago. As a refresher (and I need one too), this handset packs a 3.7-inch display, a 5MP camera, and WiFi support. This handset will be released "soon" but we don't know when or where - price is unknown as well.

Sadly, Samsung is also working on the M120S, which sports a Super AMOLED display along with Bluetooth 3.0.

WIND Mobile Releases the Black Nokia 5230, Same Price

Labels: , , ,

Not much to tell you that the title doesn't already say. If you didn't bite on WIND Mobile's Nokia 5230 because it was only in white then you can now hop on with this new black model. It's going for $180, which is the same price as before so that's not surprising. Check it out here.

Virgin Mobile Canada Releases the HTC Legend, Best Buy Puts Up Bell's a Bit Early

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Virgin Mobile has just become the first carrier in Canada - expectedly - to release the Android-based HTC Legend. They're offering it for $79.99 on a 3-year contract and for $349.99 for 30-days. If you don't like Virgin's rates then you should also keep in mind that Bell will also be launching it. They're scheduled to release it on June 16th. Anyways, check it out on Virgin Mobile here.

Update: Mobile Syrup has just pointed out that Best Buy (here) has actually put up a listing for the Bell HTC Legend a little bit early. Best Buy tells us that the handset will be $79.99 on a 3-year contract and $399.99 contract-free - likely $79.95 and $399.95, respectively, on Bell's own site.

Asus Eee PC 1016P Shows Up At the FCC, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiMAX Capabilities

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Finally, it looks like the Asus Eee PC 1016P netbook has hit the FCC (filing here). This netbook is pretty standard, featuring a 10.1-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, 160GB / 250GB HDD options, Atom N450 / N455 / N475 CPU options, WiFi b/g/n, and optional 3G support. The interesting part about this netbook is that it'll be featuring the speedier Bluetooth 3.0 along with possible WiMAX capabilities. The price and release date still hasn't been mentioned so let's hope some carrier in the US decides to subsidize it.
