First Motorola DROID 2 Pictures Get Released, Showing Off Keyboard and Boot Animation Video

Labels: , , , ,

The first full photo of the Motorola DROID 2 has just been outed and they're looking pretty nice. The keyboard matches up exactly with the keyboard we saw back in late May. This handset is going to be sporting a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, a TI OMAP 750MHz CPU, WiFi support (with tethering), 8GB of internal storage, an 8GB SD card pre-installed, a microSD card slot, a 5MP camera, a slide-out (and improved) QWERTY keyboard, and a new version of MOTOBLUR over top of Android 2.1. Phandroid is quick to point out that this smartphone does not come equipped with a front-facing camera or an HDMI port. Check out the video below for a short clip on the boot animation of this smartphone. Anyways, this handset should be available on Verizon sometime in July.

Labels: , , , ,

Well, what's this juicy news? Apparently, a promo page on Sony Style (here) shows that the Playstation 3 is available for $199.99. This is $100 cheaper than the price right now, which is great news. Sony hasn't confirmed this yet, so maybe we'll be hearing the announcement at E3 next week. This is definitely the price drop I was waiting for, I'll definitely be scooping one up later this year if this happens.

Motorola Pushing the Boundaries By Launching a 2GHz Smartphone This Year?

Labels: , , ,

Motorola has supposedly said something extremely interesting this morning. Their CEO, Sanjay Jha has mentioned (on the down-low) that they are going to be releasing an Android phone this year with a 2GHz CPU. Unfortunately, right now we don't know where this will come from especially since Snapdragon chips aren't expected to hit 2GHz this year. However, Slash Gear points out that it could be based on the ARM Cortex A9 platform. Other sources mentioned that this device will "incorporate everything that is technologically possible in a smartphone today." Let your imagination soar with that quote. I'm now expecting a 12MP camera with a xenon flash on this bad boy as well. Of course, this won't come cheap.

This tablet is sporting a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU, Tegra 2 graphics, 2GB of RAM, up to 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi / Bluetooth support, and 1080p output thanks to its HDMI output. The price or availability hasn't been mentioned - let's hope it does get mentioned soon - and we know that it's running Android 2.1 which will do for now.

Pictures Of the Nokia C7 Leak; 8MP Camera, 3.5-Inch Multitouch Display, and Symbian^3

Labels: , ,

Well, here's an interesting one for today. Apparently, what you see above is the first leaked picture of the upcoming C7 handset from Nokia. The rumoured specs for this handset are said to be a 3.5-inch capacitive multitouch display, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash, stereo speakers, a front-facing camera, and Symbian^3. This is just a rumour right now and actually looks very unlike anything that Nokia would launch. However, it looks pretty legit if you ask me. If you want more pictures, check them out here.

Asus Eee PC 1201K Netbook To Be Powered By 1.4GHz AMD CPU With Windows XP

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Early last month we heard about the Asus Eee PC 1201K netbook and the full spec sheet has just been mentioned. This netbook is going to be sporting a 12.1-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, an AMD Geode NX 1750 1.4GHz CPY, 1GB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support, 160GB / 250GB / 320GB HDD options, a 0.3MP webcam, VGA / two USB ports, a card reader, audio jacks, a 6-cell battery, and Windows XP Home. As you can see from the spec sheet, it's a netbook on the lower-end of the scale - judging from the CPU, OS, and the amount of [DDR1] RAM. Look out for it to quietly hit the shelves soon.
