Notion Ink Adam Tablet Delayed Until November, Better Late Than Never?

Labels: ,

It's a sad day for the 11 people who were waiting for the Notion Ink Adam tablet. It's unfortunately been delayed until November of this year. They likely won't be selling a bunch of these anymore since we'll be hearing about more tablets and even better products to spend our hard-earned money on. Crunch Gear points out that the HP tablet running WebOS will likely be announced by then, Chrome OS will slowly be rolling out, and the new iPhone will be in stores with AT&T's terrible new plans. Oh well.

Update: According to Slash Gear, the Adam is only going to launch in November in a "few countries." This means that we could see it in other countries before November, but who knows exactly when.

Innocomm Shark Smartphone Sporting 3.5G Connectivity, Android, and Analog TV Tuner

Labels: , , , , ,

Innocomm showed off something pretty interesting at Computex last week. This is being called the Shark, and it features Android 2.1 - not Froyo. The most interesting part about this smartphone is that it has 3.5G connectivity along with an analog TV tuner - with access to Telegent's mobile TV. Other specs include a 3.2-inch WVGA (480 x 800 resolution) touchscreen display, an 8MP camera, and WiFi support. Apparently, this handset is going to be shipping worldwide in a couple of weeks, but the model with the digital receiver isn't expected until later on. Safari 5 and Mac OS X 10.6.4 To Be Announced At WWDC?

Labels: , , , , ,

There's a rumour going around that Apple is going to be announcing Safari 5 and even Mac OS X 10.6.4 at WWDC on Monday. Safari 5 is said to "render Javascript up to 25% faster [than Safari 4] bringing it in line with recent improvements to Chrome and Opera." Safari will also bring a new "Reader" feature which will "view articles on the web in a single, clutter-free page." It'll also have a Bing search options, maybe the first of search engine switches from the Apple camp - since Google is their number one enemy right now. Right now there's no word on if Safari will support extensions so that means I'll still be sticking with Chrome.

Surprisingly, the Mac OS X 10.6.4 won't be anything too significant and it doesn't mention adding touchscreen support right now. Other improvements are listed below - thanks to 9 to 5 Mac.

Unknown Motorola Handset Pops Out Of the Wilderness, Headed To MetroPCS With Android 2.1

Labels: , , , ,

A new unannounced Motorola phone has just popped up Android Guys. This handset is, obviously, going to be running Android 2.1 and sports a slide-out (4-row) QWERTY keyboard, a 3MP camera, a 600MHz CPU (I'm guessing Qualcomm), and a touchscreen display (possibly 3-inches). This handset will likely be available in the second half of this year, so be prepared to get this one pre-paid if you want.

You can now get the world's smallest Android phone for free on a 2-year contract where you'll have to pay as little as £15 ($22 USD) monthly or you can get it £199.95 ($289 USD) on PAYG. Pocket-Lint points out that if you lose small things, you might not want to get this handset since it's as small as a credit card and weighs 88 grams.

Sony Ericsson "Shakira" To Be a Mid-Sized XPERIA X10, Launching In Fall

Labels: , , , , ,

Sony Ericsson seems to love the look of their XPERIA X10 handset. They have the regular-sized (120mm) XPERIA X10, the XPERIA X10 Mini and the X10 Mini Pro - that's three models that look exactly the same. You might have to add a fourth model to that list, being codenamed the "Shakira." They're going to try to make this XPERIA X10 model the "perfect size" because this will reportedly be somewhere in the middle of the large and small models. Unwired View points out that this model will be launching this Fall - hopefully with Android 2.2 - and sporting an HVGA display.
