The iPad Gets Cloned; Packs Android 2.1, Cortex A8 1GHz CPU, HDMI / 3 USB Ports

Labels: , ,

Here's a KIRF that's actually worth getting if you can get your hands on one. This is obviously an iPad clone, but it's running Android 2.1. It's also packed with a 10-inch touchscreen display, an ARM Cortex A8 CPU clocked at 1GHz, 512MB of RAM, a 16GB flash drive, an SD card slot, three USB 2.0 ports, audio jacks (microphone and headphone), Ethernet / HDMI ports, and WiFi. Apparently, this won't be priced over $293 USD, which is a damn good deal. Pretty awesome, is it not?

We'll see if this all comes to life in a couple of months - hopefully we'll see it at Computex in June.

Labels: , , , ,

It looks like the BlackBerry Pearl 9105 (9100 model with a T9 standard numeric keypad) has just found its way to Amazon's site in Germany (here). It's going for €499.50 ($662 USD) unlocked, which is quite a bit to dish out - just pre-orders for now. The 9100 model is the better model of the two (for most people) since it has the SureType QWERTY keypad.

Eurocom Launching Notebooks With (Fermi) GeForce GTX 480M GPU This June

Labels: , ,

Thanks to Eurocom we now know that Nvidia's GeForce GTX 480M GPU is on the way to some notebook desktop replacements. The GPU comes with 2GB of GDDR5 memory and it'll suck up around 100W of power with a $345 price tag. Eurocom will be offering this new GPU in June in their 17-inch Cheetah and Panther notebooks as well as their 18.4-inch Leopard notebook. Unfortunately, it won't be hitting their 15.6-inch Cougar notebook so you'll need a nice large display and a lot of money if you want to get this.

Labels: ,

Engadget has just mentioned that the Nokia N98 leak that happened in February could actually be real since the N8 ended up being the real deal. They mention that both handsets sport quite a similar look as well as the same colour scheme. Maybe Nokia is planning to launch the N8 with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard in the future - launched as the N98.

Canada's Rogers To Launch the Acer Liquid E Handset For $374.99 Contract-Free

Labels: , , , , ,

So Canada's Rogers is going to launch the Android-based Acer Liquid E handset soon. According to this inventory leak, this handset will be retailing for $374.99 contract-free. Not much left to tell you here because the contract prices are still unknown. I doubt it'll be launching for $199.99 on a 3-year contract though because that's a pretty cheap contract-free price. For comparison's sake, the XPERIA X10 is $149.99 on a 3-year contract and it's $549.99 contract-free.
