Eldar Murtazin Gets His Hands On the Nokia N8 Running Symbian^3, Full Spec Sheet Leaks

Labels: ,

It looks like Mobile-Review's Eldar Murtazin has just got his hands on the upcoming Nokia N8 running on Symbian^3. Confirmed specs are as follows: a 12.1MP camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and a flash, it's capable or recording 720p HD video, an HDMI output (not standard size), a glass multitouch display that feels like the Nokia X6, and it's fast - until you load the handset with a bunch of apps. Eldar, unfortunately, mentioned that the new OS is unimpressive and it feels like the old S60 - and that's what it looks like to be honest. Check out what he had to say in the quote below.

“…they’ve made cosmetic improvements, that users should like.  And users do not like them. I get a feeling that Nokia is living in some wonderland, where people are buying it’s products in droves. But this is not the case. And as a flagship product, Nokia N8 looks not just bleak, but as something incomprehensible. With the help of advertising, they will get people’s attention, start selling and will sell quite a few of them. Just to scare more people away from Nokia brand. A feeling is that there are some competitor moles working at Nokia, sabotaging the work. Purposefully destroying Nokia brand step by step. I can not find any other explanation for current events…”

QderoPateo Quidoo Handset Set To Pack Divinitus CPU With 26-Cores!!?

Labels: , ,

Uhh, yeah. Apparently, the QderoPateo Quidoo will be packing a pretty nice spec sheet. They've unveiled this at the Shanghai World Expo today and they've mentioned that the Divinitus CPU inside will somehow be packing 26-cores that's capable of 8-gigaflop floating point operation - which is apparently 4 times more powerful than the iPad. Other specs are said to be a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of ROM, 28GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi / Bluetooth / GPS support, a 5MP camera with a flash, an accelerometer, a digital compass, and a battery life of 220 hours on standby.

The Quidoo OS is centred around a 3D social networking world and it looks like Windows Phone 7. This phone is expected to make worldwide debut this July / August and we'll see if this is actually real or not - and as powerful as it claims. In 2011, an LTE (4G) model will be on the way.

Eken Working On Cheap 7-Inch Android MID For China, Only $100

Labels: , , ,

Eken is looking to get onto the market with this inexpensive Android MID. This MID appears to be packing a 7-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a VIA 8505 CPU, 2GB of internal storage, an SD card slot, WiFi, 128MB of RAM, and just 2 hours of battery life. Sadly, it only has Android 1.5 and has no 3G connectivity so you get what you pay for. Being just $680 RMB in China (around $100 USD) it's a pretty good deal.

Dell Prepping "Sparta" and "Athens" Netbooks, Looking Glass Pro, and Streak (Mini 5) Variants For Everyone

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Dell looks like they have let another leak slip. It looks like they're gearing up a netbook tablet, codenamed the "Sparta", and it's said to be sporting an 11-inch display with a 1,024 x 768 resolution, an ARM CPU, optional 3G / WiFi / Bluetooth support, and a "unique" swivel. The other device is the "Athens" which will have a 0.9kg body and it'll also sport an 11-inch display along with an ARM CPU and optional 3G / WiFi / Bluetooth support. Either of these will be capable of running on Android / Moblin (possibly MeeGo, since it's an old slide). They both should be launching this Fall, but expect some delays.

Dell also appears to be working on the Looking Glass Pro (Android-based) tablet as well, but it'll be very similar to the non-Pro model. The only upgrade the Pro model will have is an HD display and an integrated digital TV tuner. This could be set for a Q1 2011 release date.

Last, but not least, it's the Dell Streak aka the Mini 5 MID and it's said to be coming in various variants. There'll be one for US (which we already know), one for Europe (Vodafone), and one for China (China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile) as well. These are all expected to launch later this year.

Most of these dates appear to be off so expect a couple of months delay.
