Labels: , ,

Another LG handset has just been spotted and this one is reportedly the GW370 Shannon. This handset comes packed with a QVGA touchscreen display, a trackball, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It definitely looks like another variant of the KS360 (Neon) / KS365 / GT350. This one's destined for China but the price and release date haven't been mentioned.

Apple Launching Six-Core Mac Pro Desktop On March 16th? MacBook Pro Refresh Too?

Labels: , , , , , , ,

There's a rumour going around that Apple is planning to refresh their Mac Pro desktops on Tuesday of next week. This refresh will involve a six-core Intel Core i7-980x CPU that will have Turbo Boost technology with a 32nm architecture. The price hasn't been mentioned and it's unofficial right now.

Hopefully the MacBook Pro refresh is on its way soon as well.

Update: According to 9 to 5 Mac, their MacBook Pros could get updated on the same day as the Mac Pros. Yes, next Tuesday. Of course, the Core i5 CPU will be in the base model with faster Core i7 CPU options in the higher-end models of the 15 and 17-inch MacBook Pros.

LG Unveils Six Mid-Range Handsets, Pricing and Launch Dates Not Revealed

Labels: , , , , , , ,

LG has just shown off six new handsets, unfortunately, they're all in the mid-range category. First up is the LG KS365 which is not the direct successor to the KS360 (Neon) - it's just sporting a different look. The successor is the GT350 in case you forgot. Anyways, the KS365 features a slightly different look but has the same 2.4-inch [somewhat] touchscreen display, a 2MP camera, and an FM radio.

Above is the LG GT405 which features a 3-inch touchscreen display, a 5MP camera, 3G / HSDPA connectivity, and the S-Class UI. This is the best handset - spec-wise - that they showed off.

The LG Cookie Music KM570 was unveiled and it's said to feature a 5MP camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 4GB of internal storage, and Dolby Mobile technology to live up to its name.

The LG GT400 Viewty Smile is above and features some basic specs. The price tag on this should be inexpensive.

The LG Pure is pictured above and it's a slider handset. It packs a 5MP camera along with 3G / HSDPA connectivity.

The LG Jacquar 5 is the last handset that they showed off, but it's a low-end handset. On the back you'll find a VGA camera and there's a microSD card slot on there somewhere.

No pricing or details were mentioned but it doesn't really look like any of these handsets will be expensive.

Labels: , , ,

The latest rumour has it that the 3D firmware for the PS3 is set to launch on June 10th. This will be version 3.20 and is around the time Sony is planning to launch their 3DTVs in Japan. The date sounds good, but don't be surprised if it changes because it's still a couple of months from now.

Verizon Offering the Casio G'zOne Brigade On the Down Low?

Labels: , , ,

Although the Casio Brigade isn't available in stores, Verizon could actually be offering and shipping them out right now - if you talk to the right people. This person reportedly got the phone by calling the carrier's telesales directly. Unfortunately, it'll cost you $249.99 on a 2-year contract after rebates so it's definitely not cheap.

Microsoft Zune HD 2 To Run Windows Phone 7 Apps, Zune HD Owners Left In the Cold

Labels: , , ,

If you bought a Zune HD then you're out of luck here. Apparently, the Zune HD won't be a part of XNA Game Studio 4.0, but the successor to it will be. They've mentioned that the Zune HD 2 (or whatever they decide to call it) will be similar to the iPod Touch. It'll be a part of the Windows Phone 7 Series platform and it'll be capable of running the same apps. Of course, if you don't care about apps then you'll be just fine with your Zune HD since it is a great piece of hardware already.

Dell Flyer Leaks Out, Confirms Some Mini 5 MID Specs

Labels: , , ,

It looks like a leaked flyer from Dell is making the rounds and it's regarding their upcoming Android MID. Of course, I'm talking about the Mini 5. The flyer confirms that this MID will pack a 5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5MP AF camera with a flash, touch-sensitive buttons, a front-facing VGA camera, and a 30-pin docking connector. As you can see, the Mini 5 will be available in an array of colours, so that's good for most people. If I were to get this, I'd just stick with the traditional black colour.
