AT&T Launching the HTC Desire In May / June, Sprint Getting the HTC Legend

Labels: , , , , , , ,

According to Boy Genius' "close sources" AT&T will be making a big push with Android this year since they seem to have scooped up the launch for the HTC Desire. This handset is basically the Nexus One with the Sense UI and Flash 10.1 support. Apparently, the look of the Desire will be altered slightly, but we don't know much about that right now. This handset is expected to launch in May / June of this year!

Sprint already has the HTC Hero and it looks like they're getting the successor, the HTC Legend, as well. Like the Hero, the Legend will get a different look and let's hope they remove that chin - just like they did with the Hero. We'll have to see what happens, but don't expect the specs of the handset to change. We don't know when this handset will launch yet.

MOBLIC Unveils 4-Inch (E7) Portable Online Gaming Device "MID" With WiMAX

Labels: , , ,

An unknown company to me, MOBLIC, has just unveiled their E7 MID or should I say "Portable Online Game Device." Unfortunately, I don't see this device being in a lot of people's hands since it won't fit in many pockets. It's sporting a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 8GB of internal storage, a 600MHz CPU, 256MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g / WiMAX support, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with some gaming buttons as well. The price and release details haven't been mentioned yet. It's a pretty interesting idea, but I don't think this company will be the one to make it big.

Inside you've got a bunch of options including a Core i7 CPU. Don't worry though because there's a smaller 22-inch AE2280 Wind Top all-in-one PC model as well.

There are two other models, the AP1920 and the AE1920 but we don't know much about them right now. We'll likely see them later this year at CeBIT.

Nokia C6 Passes the FCC, Not All That Interesting

Labels: , ,

It looks like the unexciting Nokia C6 has just passed the FCC as the RM-612. On board it looks like it'll be packing tri-band WCDMA connectivity (900 / 1900 / 2100MHz), Bluetooth / WiFi b/g support, and quad-band GSM connectivity. Nokia has yet to officially announce this phone but from what we're hearing there's not much to look forward to. Check out the FCC filing here.

Samsung Launching C7000, C8000, and C9000 3D LED HDTVs In the US This March, Europe Getting Them Too!

Labels: , , , , , ,

It looks like Samsung plans to launch a couple of 3D LED TVs in March this year. Their C7000, C8000, and C9000 3D LED HDTVs will be hitting Sears in the US this March and it'll also be hitting Europe in March as well. All of these models sport 200Hz technology so there'll be pretty much no blur - you'll, of course, need glasses for the 3D. This would be a perfect companion to watching your Blu-ray in 3D or using your PS3 later this year since Sony mentioned that they'll be updating the firmware to support 3D games.

LG Unveils Their In-Cell Multitouch Technology, Mass-Production In H2 2010

Labels: , , ,

"LG's in-cell multitouch technology places the touchy-feely parts inside -- rather than as a film on top of -- the LCD panel, which we're told eliminates the loss of picture quality and brightness that regular multitouch results in." Unfortunately, this technology only supports two-finger multitouch right now, but the good news is that this will go into mass-production in the second half of this year. The girl above is really interested in this technology as you can see so it's definitely something to look out for.

ViewSonic Unveils Their 13.3-Inch ViewBook Pro ULV-Equipped Notebook

ViewSonic has just unveiled their ULV notebook, dubbed the VNB131 ViewBook Pro. It's actually got a decent look to it, which is pretty surprising to me. The spec include: a 13.3-inch display, an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU, a 320GB HDD, 2GB of RAM, a DVD burner, WiFi 802.11n, HDMI / VGA ports, a 7-in-1 card reader, a 6-cell battery, and Windows 7. If you don't need the DVD burner you can gladly swap it for an optional extra 3-cell battery. Anyways, this notebook is available now for $949, which is a bit on the expensive side.

MacBook Pros To Feature Nvidia Optimus Technology, Possibly Bringing Ion 2 With It

Labels: ,

It's unconfirmed right now (and wouldn't be all that surprising) but the latest rumour states that Apple's future MacBook Pros will be utilizing the new Nvidia Optimus technology. This technology was introduced to automate switching between discrete and integrated graphics so that you can ultimately save battery life without you having to worry about a thing. This technology is set to debut on the Acer Aspire One 532g soon (possibly next month) The MacBook Pro refresh will likely include the new Core i5 / i7 CPUs and possibly even Nvidia Ion 2 graphics - since the current MB Pros use Nvidia Ion graphics.
