Lenovo's ThinkPad X201 Manual Leaks Out, Reveals Core i7 CPUs and Many Different Models

Labels: , , , ,

Two weeks ago the roadmap leaked out so we know a ThinkPad 201 / X201s model is on the way. Thankfully, today the official manual has just revealed the CPU options for those two upcoming notebooks. The manual states that there'll be a number of models including: X201, X201s, X201i, and X201si. We don't know what this all means right now, but we do know that the X201 can be packed with a high-end Intel Core i7-620M 2.66GHz CPU. The slimmer X201s will pack the Intel Core i7-640LM 2.13GHz CPU. In case that wasn't all for you it looks like the trackpads could actually be optional. Would you be fine with just a short little pointer?

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Has 100% Chance To Hit AT&T

Labels: , , , , ,

According to Boy Genius, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is headed to AT&T and this is a 100% chance. Of course, since it's unconfirmed right now I'm telling you not to get your hopes up. This isn't all that farfetched though, seeing how Canada's Rogers is shipping with AT&T 3G bands. This handset should be available on AT&T for $199.99 USD on a 2-year contract if it's true. This handset will be launching with Android 1.6 and will receive an upgrade to at least version 2.0 in the future.

Best Buy Holding Pre-Sale For the Verizon Motorola Devour

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

If you're interested in the Motorola Devour then you can actually head over to Best Buy right now (in the US, of course). The pre-sale starts today and you have to buy a $50 Best Buy gift card to "secure a spot in advance." The Devour will be tied down to Verizon and it'll be their third Android handset. In case you forgot, the Devour is the handset that Megan Fox was holding in the bathtub in a Super Bowl ad. We don't know how much Verizon intends to launch this handset for but I'm assuming that it'll be around $100 or less on a 2-year contract. It'll be available on February 25th. Don't forget that you'll be able to use Skype over 3G with this handset starting next month!

Microsoft's Turtle and Pure To Get CDMA Variants; Sporting Nvidia's Tegra?

Labels: , , , , ,

I'm sure you're familiar with Microsoft's Project Pink, it consists two phones: the Turtle (above) and the Pure. Apparently, both of these handsets will be fairly low-end phones targeted for the youth, but they'll still be running on the Tegra chipset which is pretty amazing for a "low-end" phone. The Turtle and Pure are expected to have GSM connectivity and the CDMA variants will reportedly be the Pride and the Lion, respectively. The Turtle / Pride will be sporting a 240 x 320 resolution and the Pure / Lion will be sporting a 320 x 480 resolution. Tegra for a low-end phone? We'll have to wait and see.

Sporting an old-school look, this is Panasonic's 25.5-inch 3D IPS monitor (BT-3DL2550). It's got a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, an Xpol filter for 3D with glasses on, two HD-SDI ports, and a DVI-D port. Unfortunately, it's extremely expensive since it's pegged at $9,900 USD. So much for 3D not adding on to the price tag.

It looks like Nokia's go-to Symbian OS could be ready before expected since they've just mentioned that Symbian^3 will be complete by the end of this quarter. I'm excited for this, the future of Android, and Windows Phone 7. Let's see what happens in the future.

It should be no surprise that T-Mobile USA will be launching the HTC HD2 and we now know that it will be in March (next month) - officially. We don't know the exact launch details so we'll have to wait for that. This HTC HD2 will be launching with Blockbuster On Demand, a Barnes & Noble eReader app, and Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on a microSD card for you. You can check out T-Mobile for the HD2 teaser site (here).

Oh yeah, T-Mobile will also be launching a 21Mbps HSPA+ USB model next month as well. This isn't a big deal right now since there aren't a lot of markets with the capabilities right now.

LG GW990 On Track To Be World's First MeeGo Handset

Labels: , , , , , ,

Remember the LG GW990 from CES? Well, it was supposed to use Moblin as its OS, but now it's on track to be the world's first "smartphone" running on the newly announced MeeGo OS. This handset is expected to launch in the second half of 2010 and, to be honest, is more like an MID than a phone since it's so large. Maybe Nokia will snub them for this world's first title, but it doesn't really matter.
