Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Samsung just held their event in New York and it's great news for absolutely everyone in North America. The company announced that their Galaxy Tab will be hitting the major four carriers in the US, that means AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. The tablet sports a 7-inch touchscreen display (1,024 x 600 resolution), a 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, and Android 2.2 Froyo. The whole spec sheet has already been covered (here) if you're interested. Yes, there'll be a WiFi model for those who don't want to pay a contract with 3G connectivity. There's no 4G model for Sprint in case you're wondering. Release dates and pricing are still unknown.

Update: According to Mobile Syrup, this tablet will also be available on Bell and Rogers in Canada. The exact pricing and release date is unknown, all they've said is that it'll be available "in the coming months".

Update: According to another Engadget post, the Galaxy Tab will not have phone functionalities and that's some sad, sad news.
