Google Nexus One Packing 1GHz Snapdragon CPU With WiFi Support and FM Transmitter

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Some specs of the Google Nexus One have been confirmed. Since the OS (Android 2.1) has already been leaked people were able to find that the Nexus One does have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz CPU and the Broadcom BCM4329 chipset which has WiFi b/g/n support and an FM transmitter. That's all well and good and if it really launches for $99, it's a bargain.

Nokia 7230 Passes the FCC With 3G Support, Should Be Cheap

Labels: , ,

Another Nokia handset has passed the FCC and this time it's the Nokia 7230. This slider handset features: a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth 2.1 / 3G support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 3.2MP camera, a microSD card slot, and an FM radio. Unfortunately, it lacks both GPS and WiFi support. It'll be 3G capable on AT&T if you're in the USA and it should be pretty cheap. Check out the FCC listing here.

Motorola MB501 Identified To Be the GSM / WCDMA Variant of the Zeppelin

Labels: , , , ,

Cell Passion is on their heels right now. They have just discovered that the Motorola MB501 that they spotted in late October will actually be a GSM / WCDMA variant of the Motorola Zeppelin. This is pretty shocking news because now we have a CDMA and a GSM model of this phone. It could be launched on any carrier now. However, Cell Passion believes that there will be "three variants of the Zeppelin - one for the Chinese market, another one for the American market with CDMA and a third for the European and other Asian markets with GSM and WCDMA." Interesting stuff there.

T-Mobile To Offer the Google Nexus One / HTC Passion Starting On January 5th?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Picture the Google Nexus One with T-Mobile branding and that could be what will be happening in early 2010. According to Reuters (still a rumour), T-Mobile could be offering to sell what we know as the Nexus One as something else. We already know that this handset is the HTC Passion / Dragon from a while ago, but it could be hitting the carrier subsidized as early as January 5th. This handset will also be sold unsubsidized by Google, possibly on the same day, but we'll have to wait for pricing details.

Update: According to Lifehacker, it could be available for $99.99 USD on a 2-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate. This would likely see competition from the iPhone since it is priced $100 cheaper than the latest model.
