Sony Ericsson Satio Hitting Vodafone October, Samsung Genio Coming Soon Too

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

We already know that Vodafone had the Nokia E72, the LG GM750 and the XPERIA X2 listed on their website, but now it looks like two more handsets have made their way to the "Coming Soon" page. The Sony Ericsson Satio - formerly called the Idou - which packs a 12.1MP camera and the less-exciting Samsung Genio - earlier named the Corby. Vodafone says that the Satio is coming as early as next month (October), but lists no possibly date for the Genio. Either way it's something to look forward to.

TRENDnet Unveil World's Smallest WiFi 802.11n USB Adapter, 150Mbps Included

Labels: ,

TRENDnet has unveiled their latest WiFi 802.11n USB adapter. The TEW-648UB is the world's smallest (just 1.3-inches long) of its kind, and can pump out 150Mbps. This is only half the speed of the 802.11n standard, but that's because it doesn't have MIMO since it's so small I'm assuming. But, 150Mbps could be enough for you. This device should be available for around $20 to $25 USD.

Labels: , , , , , ,

We've already seen the I5700 Galaxy Lite running Android in the white / lime green flavour, so the more interesting colour is on the right side which is a black / red colour which - I think - looks better. I like my devices black. More or less the full spec sheet is below, courtesy of Tmo Today. And yes, that does say TouchWiz, so we could be seeing a bit of Samsung manipulating on this handset - unlike the original I7500 Galaxy.

IDF Spawns New Point Grey USB 3.0 1080p-Capable Webcam

Labels: , , ,

At IDF, Point Grey has just awesomely demonstrated their USB 3.0 webcam that will allow you to show off yourself in uncompressed 1080p video at 60fps. Talk about wicked stuff. Gizmodo said, "It's definitely the sharpest webcam image I've ever seen, giving crystal-clear picture even on the huge 42-inch demo monitor." So, yes, this is a big deal. Unfortunately, USB 3.0 is not entirely mainstream at this point, so you'll need a PCI-Express-to-USB-3.0 card if you're really interested. This webcam will be available late this year or early next year, but the price hasn't been mentioned yet.
