  • bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • wifi 802.11b/g

  • UMTS 900 (is this a mistake and not 850? The Acer F1 has 850!),

MSI X-Slim X610 Notebook Build With AMD Athlon, Sacrifices Speed and Battery Life For Cheaper Price

Labels: , ,

MSI is releasing an X-Slim X610 notebook soon. It's basically the X-Slim X600 notebook with a couple of changes. With the X610, you will get an AMD Athlon 1.6GHz MV-40 CPU - instead of the Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 CPU in the X600. The AMD Athlon CPU is actually slower and drains two hours more battery life than the Intel CPU.

The rest of the specs are the same, that's: a 15.6-inch display, ATI Mobility Radeon 4330 graphics, a 250GB HDD, and 4GB of RAM. The price and availability hasn't been mentioned yet, but it should cost less than the X600 that costs $800 USD.

Telus Releasing Something on September 15th

Labels: ,

Over the weekend, there was a Telus commercial that played. It's below and it basically said that they're announcing / releasing something on the 15th of September. And no, "It's not what you think." So, I guess it's too early to guess that their HSPA network is launching on that date and the rumoured iPhone / LG BL40 would be launching as well. Maybe they'll both be available at a later date.

WinMo 6.5 Launching on October 1st, Touch Friendly Version in February 2010, WinMo 7 Expected in Q4 2010

Labels: , , , ,

According to the latest news, WinMo 6.5 will be a strong competitor since the software itself allows for  multitouch capacitive displays. The OS itself will, of course, improve on touch-friendliness. According to DigiTimes, the initial launch of WinMo 6.5 will take place on October 1st and another "touch interface" version is expected to be released in February of next year (2010). DigiTimes also goes on to mention that WinMo 7 will officially be available in Q4 of next year. It sucks that WinMo 7 is getting pushed all the way until Q4 of next year, but WinMo 6.5 looks to be a great push forward for Microsoft and Windows Mobile 6.1.

First Pictures of the Android-Based Samsung InstinctQ M900 Handset Leak Out

Labels: , , ,

Below and above are the first photos of the Sprint-bound Samsung InstinctQ M900. Phandroid suggests that the "Q" in Instinct refers to the slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard and I'm pretty sure they're right. The InstinctQ M900 has been seen getting WiFi Alliance certificates and is rumoured to be released in November of this year. From the photo below, it looks like it could be a Google Experience handset. This could be a part of the lower-tier of Android handsets, but it's looking like a good start for both Android and Samsung. Since I know you're interested, check out the link below for a couple more photos.

New Pictures of the Verizon-Bound Samsung U450 and Rogue U960, Launching Soon

Labels: , , , ,

We've seen the Samsung U450 in Verizon's future phone line-up, but we actually haven't seen a picture of the handset - until today. The Samsung U450 is above and it clearly has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Other specs include: a numeric keypad, a 1.3MP camera, and Bluetooth capabilities. The shot above was taken from a Verizon system.

The other phone that has just been snapped in Verizon's systems is actually the Samsung Rogue U960. This picture is actually different than what we have seen before, so this could be a new look. Let's just hope that it's still rocking the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Personally, I like the old look better. By the way, both of these handsets are said to be launching soon - maybe August 23rd.
