No Grand Theft Auto V in 2010 [or 2009]

Labels: , , ,

I talked about a possible Grand Theft Auto V back in January. Unfortunately, that got debunked and the rumour mill said it would be available in 2010. But, on the day where BioShock 2 and Heavy Rain announced their delays, Take-Two Interactive has just talked about the multi-platform Grand Theft Auto V that everyone has been waiting for.

Unfortunately (again), the Take-Two Interactive Chairman, Strauss Zelnick, said "I think the key take away is that we fully anticipate we'll be able to achieve out goals of operating the company profitably in [2010], a year that won't have a multiplatform release of a new GTA." Sad, sad news, but he could be bluffing. Possibly.

Apple Tablet Could Be ARM-Powered, Same Power as Netbooks

Labels: , ,

Remember the rumoured Apple tablet from this morning? Apparently, the "processor will be designed in-house, making it the first chip to comt out of Apple's PA Semi acquisition." This would mean that the tablet that Apple is going to push out this October - if true - could be running on an ARM chip. This would make the tablet about as powerful than the current netbooks, so it would fit right in. However, with Apple you get the arguably beefed up price tag aka $800, which is always fun... This news is, of course, still unconfirmed.

Samsung SGH-T939 / Behold2 Gets WiFi Interoperability Certificate

Labels: , , ,

Like the Samsung InstinctQ M900, the Behold2 SGH-T939 has just gotten a Wi-Fi Interopability Certificate. The specs of the successor to the original Behold - that was released last holiday season - have not been mentioned yet, but it should be safe to say that it will have WiFi b/g, 3G, and at least a 5MP camera. It'll hit T-Mobile eventually, but the pricing and release date have not been mentioned yet.

Heavy Rain Delayed Until 2010 Because of "Crowded" Christmas

Labels: , , , , ,

Heavy Rain was scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 3 this Christmas time, but it's being delayed. I believe I heard earlier rumours about Heavy Rain being delayed, but now it's official. Quantic Dream is the creator of Heavy Rain and the co-CEO has just mentioned that it's "not ideal" to release this game just before Christmas, since it is an entirely brand new game. It sounds like an excuse Mr. co-CEO man, but that's alright, I don't mind the delay. This game is expected to be very graphics-heavy, but I think the gameplay aspect will be underwhelming. We'll just have to see what happens next year when it gets released.

BlackBerry App World Hitting More Countries and Launching in More Languages Soon

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

"In the next few weeks" RIM will be launching their BlackBerry App World to more countries and will also be featured in more languages. Countries include: Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Luxembourg, Portugal, Belgium, and the Netherlands; Languages include: French, Italian, Spanish, German, etc. "RIM plans on adding new software categories to make finding what you're looking for just a little bit easier and will be adding support for URLs, which -- when opened from your BlackBerry's browser -- will take you straight to an app's page in App World." Like I said, look out for it "in the next few weeks." Slowly, but surely, RIM will hit every country with their App World.

Rose Gold and Pink Diamond iPhone Unveiled, Costs $35,419

Labels: , ,

I don't really have much to say here, but take a look at this excerpt I pulled from Pocket Lint.

The luxury offering contains approximately 150 grams of 18ct rose gold, finished off with no less than 53 pink diamonds housed in the 18ct rose gold Apple logo.

The iPhone will go on sale at www.stuarthughes.com later this week priced at a mere £21,995.

So... are you willing to spend £21,995 ($35,419 USD) for a tricked out iPhone 3GS? Probably not, but I just thought it was fascinating, seeing how we're in this economic crisis and people still seem to want to manufacture these things.

Microsoft Windows 7 Build 7600 - Possible RTM - Leaked to Torrents

Labels: , , ,

Today, Micorosft was rumoured to be pushing out the Windows 7 RTM build and this could be it. Build 7600 of Windows 7 has just leaked to torrents. As of right now, the only torrents I found were for x64, so x86-based PCs will have to wait a little bit longer. Build 7600 is in the running to be the Windows 7 RTM build, so I'm going to download it and "test it out" after a crack gets released. Google it up for more information on these leaked torrent.

Microsoft Announces Free Online Office 2010, Testing Starts Now; Leaked To Torrents

Labels: , , ,

Microsoft's Monday announcement has just been, well, announced. Like the second rumour we heard, Microsoft announced that Office 2010 will have a free online suite, similar to Google Docs and Zoho. The online aspect will include the likes of Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and OneNote and will be available for free to anyone with a Live account. The "semi-private" testing begins today. I don't how this will affect the launch of the Google Chrome OS, but I guess Microsoft thinks it will do some damage.

Update: According to Crunch Gear, Microsoft Office 2010 has been leaked to torrents. It's still a beta, so take caution. I'm downloading it as we speak though... I mean, no I'm not not...

According to Reuters, LG is going to launch an app store in the next 24 hours. This app store will launch with 1,400 applications and 100 free programs. This Application Store from LG is going to be available in 15 different languages, but sadly, the initial release is only going to be for the Asian market. Could the Google Chrome OS Hit Netbooks This Year?

Labels: , , , ,

All the buzz about the Google Chrome OS hasn't died yet. Early reports, by Google themselves, mentioned that the Chrome OS should be available by the end of 2010. But according to Eric Schmidt, HP and Acer could launch netbooks with the Chrome OS by the end of this year. First, we'll see how smooth things go before getting overexcited.

Netbooks running Chrome OS, Google’s newly announced operating system, may be available later this year, according to a report from Reuters, which quoted Google chief executive Eric Schmidt at the Allen & Company media and technology conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, on July 9.
“Everybody we’ve talked to under nondisclosure is excited about the plan,” Schmidt told Reuters. “So hopefully later this year we’ll see some announcements.”
According to Reuters, Hewlett-Packard and Acer are working with Google to create devices running Chrome OS, which was designed to better exploit the Chrome browser and modern Web services, such as online applications.

On the official Toys "R" Us website, the Asus Eee PC MK90 Netpal has just popped up for pre-orders. This 8.9-inch netbook costs $349.99 USD. As of right now, it runs Windows XP and doesn't have an option for a 160GB HDD - like traditional netbooks out there. It weighs 2.2 pounds, which should be light enough for your kid to carry. On top of Windows XP, Asus and Disney implemented their own "parent-control features, access to Radio Disney, and custom themes from Cars and Toy Story." I have one question though. Where's the Lilo and Stitch theme?

Next-Gen LG Chocolate BL40 Revealed on Video With Specs, Makes Me Hungry!

Labels: , , ,

I'm sure you remember LG's Black Label smartphone aka the next iPhone competitor. Well, here it is. This is the next-gen LG Chocolate BL40 and there's even a video below - and it looks like it's authentic. This new LG Chocolate BL40 has a: 21:9 aspect ratio, about a 4-inch display with a 345 x 800 resolution multi-touchscreen display, a Schneider-kreuznach lens (megapixels still uknown), a Flash-based 3D UI, aGPS, WiFi, and 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity. The screen is also said to be scratch-proof glass and it looks about as thin as the old-school iPod Nanos.

Looks good doesn't it... hell yes! I'd definitely prefer a 16:9 aspect ratio display though, but we'll just have to see some hands-on videos in the future. The virtual QWERTY keyboard could probably be ruled out in portrait mode and it looks like it could take some getting used to in landscape mode as well. Anyways, enjoy the video below, it looks amazing so far.
