RAmos T10 PMP

Labels: , , , ,

We've already seen Nextar's PMP earlier today and now it's time for something I'd actually buy. The RAmos T10 PMP was announced in January and now the company has released a full-blown website for this thing. The PMP has a nice form factor, mildly imitating that of a Blackberry Storm. It has a 4.3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, support for just about every audio / video format, TV output, USB 2.0 connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack and has your choice of either a 8GB or 16GB model. Word has it that this sexy PMP will be available in the great land of China next month, but there is no word on when it will be coming to this side of the world. I hope it is released here because this is a great looking PMP, all it's missing is WiFi.

HP's Longer-Lasting Enviro Laptop Batteries Now Available

Labels: , , , , ,

HP announced these new longer-lasting Enviro laptop batteries back in December and thankfully they are now available. The new batteries promise 1,000 recharges - similar to the battery in the new Apple MacBook Pro - which is much more than the 300 recharges that the standard lithium-ion batteries give you. These are also the "first and only notebook batteries on the market to have a three-year warranty." As of right now, the new batteries will work for 18 different HP laptop models and cost just $149.99 USD. The new HP Enviro batteries will be available in late March for newer laptops "as part of the accessories selection process" for around $20 - $30 (USD) more than the standard batteries. Just when you thought 1,000 recharges was enough, these new batteries also recharge from 0% - 80% in just 30 minutes. Amazing. They may last longer (recharge-wise), but there is no word on whether the laptop will actually last longer (as in 100% - 0% battery life). If that is the case then my girlfriend definitely needs to get this battery for her laptop, since her HP Pavilion dies in about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Nextar MA809 PMP

Labels: , , , , ,

The Nextar has a decent looking PMP here, but I think I'd rather stick with the iPod Touch, that is if I had money to get it. Anyways, the 0.25-inch thick Nextar MA809 PMP has a 2.8-inch display with a 400 x 240 resolution, a voice recorder, an FM tuner / recorder, a built-in speaker (of course) and a stopwatch. The lithium-ion's battery life is said to last 8 hours for your music and 3 hours for your video needs. The 3 models: 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB will be retailing at Sears (Yes!) for (USD) $99.99, $119.99, and $149.99 respectively. Although there are only these 3 different models, there is also a microSD slot for more expansion. It's clearly missing WiFi and also Apple's App Store of course.

Lenovo Pocket Yoga Not A Real Product?

Labels: , , ,

Well, I've talked about the Lenovo Vaio P look alike that was leaked on Saturday (here) and it was even given a name earlier this morning. A new rumour has it that Lenovo's design department has denied that the Pocket Yoga even exists. They went on to mention that the Lenovo Pocket Yoga is a two-year old concept. So, unfortunately, they are denying any information that was leaked about this netbook. It's kind of sad to see it go, but maybe they are just lying. Just maybe! It looks like Lenovo had this whole netbook idea before any other company even thought of it, talk about innovative! It's gets you thinking now, why didn't they release this concept? As of right now no one knows that answer.

Windows 7 RC Delayed?

Labels: , ,

A new Russian "leak" has mentioned that the Windows 7 RC1 will be delayed until early May - instead of the expected April 10 public release date. The Windows 7 RC1 was supposedly leaked out as Build 7057, but since Microsoft is still working on ways to improve it, I guess it's not truly the Release Candidate. Since the RC may be delayed, the official and final Windows 7 OS may also be delayed until "later in Fall." I don't really know what to believe, but in a couple of weeks (or days) I'm sure we'll know when the RC will really be released. I hope that it is released on April 10, but I also don't want Microsoft to rush this OS. They need Windows 7 to save them (and the public from Vista). On a side note, the Russian leak also says that Office 14 will be shipping in March 2010.

Mouse Computer Nettop

Labels: , , , ,

Mouse Computer crawled onto the scene a couple of days ago with their desktops rocking the fairly new Core i7's from Intel. Well, they're back and this time with their EGPA33DR32XP nettop. Yes, the name is fairly long and confusing, but its spec sheet has revealed itself. It has the famous Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 320GB HDD, and will run on Windows XP Home. The nettop will retail for ¥39,800 ($400 USD) and is only available in Japan.

MSI Wind U110 Eco

Labels: , ,

MSI has now revealed their next-generation netbook, the Wind U110 Eco. This new netbook has a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 (instead of the traditional N280) and "Intel`s traditionally MID-oriented Menlow chipset with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200" which will give you 9 hours of battery life. The whole spec sheet is currently unavailable, so I will give that to you on a future date.

Lenovo's Vaio P Gets Named; Pocket Yoga

Labels: , , , ,

Lenovo's Vaio P competitor has finally gotten a name. It's now called the Lenovo Pocket Yoga. The Yoga still has no spec sheet but it'll be interesting to see how much Lenovo can pack into this netbook. You can view more pictures of the Pocket Yoga if you go to Engadget's site.
