Blackberry 9900 "Pluto" Leaked?

Labels: , , ,

In an attempt to make my blog more "professional" I'm going to try to remember to capitalize all of my "I"s when necessary. I'm also going to make the references to my sources more Engadget / Gizmodo-like because I just find it much cleaner than my stinkin' way. Since I have March Break this week, I'm going to try something new with my posts. That is, making every post about 1 certain product / subject instead of bundling 4 products / subjects into 1 blog post. That means I'll be updating more frequently this week and my posts will be shorter. It will also be easier for my [many] readers to miss a post, so be sure to put the archive in the right sidebar to good use. I'm going to see how this plan works out this week, so I just thought I'd inform my [very-lacking] readers.

The picture you see here is a leaked photo of the BlackBerry 9900 "Pluto" which looks like it is a touchscreen BlackBerry Bold. Judging from my numerous sources, they have come to the conclusion that the picture is a fake. It may be 100% fake and the pictures may have some truth to it, so don't be too upset. In the picture, you will notice that the leaked photo is showing a Rogers-branded (Go Canada!) BlackBerry 99xx but the word "berry" is not capitalized (Fail!). Anyways, these aren't official pictures and have been declared fake, but it would definitely be good to see RIM leaning towards a design similar to this. A full touchscreen BlackBerry could be another fail (Hi Storm) and I'm sure that business people all around the world want to keep their physical QWERTY keypad. Time to step up RIM!

iPhone Premium App Store, Nintendo DS's In Schools, Mouse Computer NextGear and Masterpiece, CyberPower Gamer Xtreme 3D Desktop PCs

There is a new rumour that Apple's App Store will be receiving a new edition called "Premium" Apps. As of right now, there are a ton of apps to go through, so the App Store is a mess to go through. Maybe Apple should clean that up. Anyways, these "Premium" apps will be selling for $20+ USD to give those greedy developers more money in their wallet. That is, if these rumours are true.

In Osaka, Japan, it is going to be a requirement to have a Nintendo DS as part of your studies. 10 elementary and middle schools have been given the green light to purchase and also distribute the DS's by next January. It will be bundled with some bloatware aka "educational software." I still call those students lucky even with the added software, especially if they're free-of-charge.

If we head over to Japan again (or just stay there), we can possibly spot these 2 new desktop PCs from the Japanese brand, Mouse Computer. The NextGear L720 and the Masterpiece V1200 are both packed with Intel's Core i7 processors. Both models can also pack in 3GB - 12GB of DDR3 RAM, SATA HDDs, NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards and even a Blu-ray optical drive for your entertainment. These desktops will start at a base price of ¥110,000 ($1,121 USD) so make sure you're willing to dish out that much cash.

This looks like it is yet another step into the future 3D-world. In a confusing way, they have made their GamerXtreme 3D 1000 more powerful than their GamerXtreme 3D 2000. Anyways, the 2000 model will have a Phemon II X3 720 triple-core processor; meanwhile, the 1000 model will have a 2.66GHz Core i7-920 processor. They will both feature the NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 graphics card, a 22-inch Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ 120Hz LCD monitor, a bunch of other high-end specs and it also comes with the infamous 3D glasses. The GamerXtreme 2000 model is retailing for $1,299 USD and the 1000 model will retail for $1,839 USD.

Windows 7 RC 1 (Build 7057)

Labels: , ,

I finally got my hands on the so-called Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 (Build 7057) and, while it may or may not be the official RC, it runs fairly well. Although, I did find that the public Windows 7 Beta (released earlier this year) runs smoother than the RC. This may or may not be the case with the official Windows 7 RC coming out on April 10, but I am having one small problem with the RC right now. I am continuously getting disconnected from the Internet after about an hour of using it. It's kind of weird and I really don't know how to fix it. This is because the Internet taskbar icon disappears and I don't know how to recover it. Other than that it [the RC] runs perfectly fine. I've reinstalled every single program that was on my Windows 7 Beta successfully with no problems. I've also had no driver problems, except for this Internet issue which could be my one driver issue. It runs well, so thank you torrents for supplying the public this build.
