RIM Patents Capacitive-Resistive Touchscreen Display

Labels: , ,

We all know how good resistive touchscreens are, but we also know how much better capacitive touchscreens are. RIM has just patented a new kind of touchscreen display that they will possibly use in an upcoming BlackBerry - probably next year, if anything. As you can see above, the display will consist of a capacitive display on the top and underneath would be a resistive touchscreen display. We don't know how good this will be, but I didn't expect this from RIM, seeing as they only have one touchscreen BlackBerry on the market right now. Pretty interesting though.
