Nokia and Verizon Teaming Up To Make a 4G Device

Labels: , , , , , ,

A new rumour has leaked out that Nokia and Verizon are teaming up to work on a 4G device. It will most likely be battling the next iPhone for the top device. Verizon's new 4G wireless network is set to be released sometime in 2010 (called Long Term Evolution, LTE for short), so that's when the device is planning to be released. Yes, 2010 is pretty far from now, but i guess it's good news that we're already moving to 4G, even though 3G is not exactly the standard yet. I feel like they have kind of rushed into the 4G market, instead of improving 3G or whatever, but i mean 4G must be better than 3G right? Nokia has denied a so-called "deal" between Nokia and Verizon, but the unnamed source did not deny the fact that Nokia was working with Verizon. Verizon, on the other hand, decided not to comment at all. It seems like a good idea for Nokia since they're not the most known for their devices in US (even though they own the rest of the world). It would be good for Nokia to get this device out with Verizon because it will give people more belief in the Nokia brand name, since the iPhone has trumped Nokia's smartphone market. Do you think Nokia and Verizon are working together for a 4G device? Is it a good idea?
