Dell Latitude E6400 XFR, Android Dev Phone Version 1.1, New Dell Adamo Teaser Video

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

This is the Dell Latitude E6400 XFR rugged laptop that looks just about bulletproof. It's pretty thick, 2.2-inches to be exact, and weighs 8.5 pounds. There is no word on the price (Update: starts at $4,299 USD) or the availability, but it is apparently 15% thinner and 5% lighter than the last Dell Latitude XFR laptop. The laptop itself has a sunlight-readable WXGA display and inside you get Intel's Core 2 Duo "paired up with both a 256MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M and an integrated 4500MHD." In Engadget's post, it looks like there are a couple of errors, one being a "265MB" graphics card and also a "1.41 WXGA display". I'm going to guess that the decimal place should be slid over to the right one spot, making it a 14.1-inch touchscreen sunlight-readable display.

Version 1.1 of Android is now available to developers. The unlocked and updated version of the T-Mobile G1 / HTC Dream has many new OS updates. Some of the OS updates include: "Support for Search by Voice, Priced Apps, Alarm Clock Fixes, Sending Gmail freeze fixed, Fixes mail notifications and refreshing intervals [and] Maps now show business reviews." Now, while it says that you can download apps, you won't be able to download free or paid apps if they contain "copy protection" which is a large portion of all of the apps. The new device will go for at least $400. If you live in anywhere outside of the United States you're looking at "anywhere from $77 (Japan) to $198.38 (Canada) [more]." I don't know why it has to be so much more expensive in Canada, since US is just south of us. Talk about greedy.

Dell has just released their new teaser video for their MacBook Air competitor, the Dell Adamo. I'm not going to spoil the video for you, so just scroll down and hit play. It's uber sexy!

Dell is always known for its good quality products. It has a good design. The keyboard is very comfortable and typing is really fun. It has an amazing screen. The battery life is very poor. Overall performance-wise, its really good. People who are in need for durable laptops, this is the best option. For more details refer dell e6400 xfr
