Bad News for the PS3?, Final Fantasy 13 Trailers, LBP Reaches 1 Million, Ecofont, Youtube E-cards

Labels: , , , , ,

I've been reading my Google Reader and i have to be honest. I've read at least 6 articles that say the Playstation 3 is "a sinking ship." Some of the reasons that they say this are because the sales for the PS3 have dropped from last year's November 2007 and this year's November 2008 sales. This is possibly due to the PS3's price tag. While it is more powerful than the Xbox 360 and, definitely, the Wii, it is still struggling. Sony has been saying that the PS3 has a 10 year lifespan but, as of right now, i don't really think it will last 10 years. I hope it has the longevity of the PS2, but the games aren't cutting it. Some exclusive games, such as, Final Fantasy 13, are now being released to other consoles. With the price of Blu-ray players dropping, the PS3 may soon not be the cheapest Blu-ray player device out. I really hope that 2009 will be a big year for Sony since they, arguably, changed the way games are played [and made] today.

I have found 2 new Final Fantasy 13 Trailers, thanks to kotaku.com. This was, at first, my most anticipated game for the Playstation 3 and was pretty much the only reason why i planning to get it. But, now that it is not an exclusive title, minus 1 point for the PS3 and i absolutely hate to say it. Anyways, the links [for the trailers] are as follows: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43656.html and  http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43655.html

So, LittleBigPlanet has now sold 1 million copies. This is now my most anticipated game for the PS3, i need to have this game. I love the idea of making your own levels and i can just picture myself now. Sitting on my couch and taking about 14 hours to make half a level. Exciting news for me, maybe not so much for my readers.

So, someone has invented a new font called Ecofont. This font was made my Colin Willems. It is a font that is supposed to save you 20% more ink. It does this by having small circles inside the letters (seen on left side, picture). The small white circles are hard to see when the font is smaller, let's say less than 14 font. It's pretty cool, saving ink, and with a nice unique design.

You can now send someone Youtube clips for the Christmas holidays. Youtube has created it's own kind of e-card service. You can pick a background, add your own custom message and then send it to up to 25 of your friends. Interesting.

Gmail, Google Chrome, Sony's New Walkman, Playstation Home, Full Moon

I got to school early again today, for the third day in a row. It was pretty much the usual day, except for a couple of things. So, today, for Religion we did absolutely nothing, because my teacher, Mrs. Schaljo, wasn't feeling too well. For Advanced Functions, i had my test, which was pretty easy. For lunch, i had my laptop, so i read my Google Reader and starred things that i could possibly blog about. I also downloaded a couple of mixtapes, updated my podcasts and even updated my virus and spyware cleaners. Anyways, after 2 hours i was back in class. Chemistry class, to be exact and i had my Chemistry Quiz. It was pretty easy except for some Reaction questions. So, after school i went to my girlfriend's house (again =D) for a bit. I left at around 4, after helping her review some Psych stuff for her exam tomorrow. I took my bus home and eventually i had to leave for my cousin's, Aldric's, basketball game. It was at Sheridan College. They eventually lost, but it's okay because my cousin scored over 2 black guys. LOL. Go Aldric Go! Anyways, after that game i came home and now it's time to talk about some news, briefly.

So, Gmail had an update recently. Gmail now has a PDF viewer. I can now read those Diablo, Warcraft and, especially, Starcraft books in my Gmail without my computer getting all slow and stuff. That's pretty much all i had to say about that, so let's move on.
More Google news. So the Google Pack now has Google Chrome as it's default browser instead of, what it used to be, Firefox with Google Toolbar. You can still choose Firefox as part of it's installation, but it is now optional. Just wait until Google Chrome start's shipping with PC's like (maybe) Dell, woot woot. Hopefully, this will raise it's popularity even more, seeing how it has just come out of beta and is arguably the fastest browser out right now.
So, rumour has it that "Sony has plans to unveil its first touchscreen Walkman at CES." It may be coming in 2 versions, a 16 GB and a 32 GB sporting an OLED touchscreen. Looks like it will be competing with the iPod Touch, but it is Sony. This means that it will likely be overpriced (see Sony Vaio and a handful of TV's). Last but not least, there will be Wi-Fi and will have a built-in browser.
So, as i mentioned in one of my previous blogs, Playstation Home was released but off to a shaky start. This was due to an "overwhelming demand for the service as people access Home for the very first time since it became Open Beta and appeared on the XMB." So, after a day of Playstation Home, there are already perverts flooding the world. Watch the youtube.com video if you like, although it is NSFW (Not Safe For Work). Edit: As of 11:08 p.m. on Friday, December 12th the video has been removed from Youtube. If the video resurfaces i will link it in another post.
So, you should pull out your cameras, while you can. Why you ask? Well, tonight (December 12, 2008) you will see that the Full Moon is out. What makes today so important? Today is important because this is the biggest full moon we have seen in 15 years. "It should look about 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than this year's other full moons, according to NASA." So, yup, stay on the look out for that today, for those on the Northern Hemisphere.
